Teenage Duel Lights Up Carolina Speedway as Baldwin Scores Carolina Sprint Tour Win

By Evan McCrory GASTONIA, N.C. (May 8, 2026) — A beautiful Carolina evening set the stage as 15 RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Cars signed in at Carolina Speedway for round two of six in the K-Town Pizza and Pub Mini Series for the Carolina Sprint Tour presented by GSR Chassis. Tyler Lupton of Clarkston, Michigan, set the pace early in Radical Race Gear Hot Laps with a quick lap of 14.975 seconds around “The Action Track.” Heat race victories went to Lupton and defending series champion George Loux. In the first heat race, rookie Aiden Snead took a tumble that ended his night early. Snead exited the car under his own power and was uninjured. Following the redraw, Lupton and Dillan Baldwin of Taylorsville, Kentucky, led the field to green for the main event. Baldwin charged the high side at the drop of the green but lost momentum after catching the cushion, allowing Lupton to take the early lead. A caution on lap two slowed the pace after Brooklyn Newman made contact with the outside wall in [Read More]

Hogge Scores Exciting Watsonville Modified Victory

By Gary Thomas WATSONVILLE, Calif. (May 8, 2026) — Legendary driver Bobby Hogge grabbed the lead on lap 12 of the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified main event and never looked back, scoring his second DeVilbiss Racing Chassis Western Region win of the season—both coming at Watsonville Speedway. The 25-lap finale began with Salinas veteran Robert Marsh pacing the early circuits, while a tight battle brewed just behind him. Jim Pettit II of Prunedale and Hogge raced side-by-side for second, keeping fans locked in as the front-runners battled on the quarter-mile. Pettit surged to the lead on lap eight, with Hogge slipping into second at the same time. The two Hall of Famers then staged a thrilling duel for the top spot before Hogge powered past Pettit on lap 12. Once out front, Hogge pulled away to secure another Watsonville triumph and accept the Ed Entz checkered flag. Martinez racer Nick DeCarlo turned in a standout performance, charging from eighth to finish second. DeCarlo steadily worked through the field and made his move past Pettit with four [Read More]

Bloom Charges Late for Cottage Grove SportMod Victory

By Ben Deatherage COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. (May 9, 2026) — Aaron Bloom made a decisive mid-race move to capture the Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMod feature at Cottage Grove Speedway, scoring his first win of the season in the 25-lap main event. Gavin Ropchan took control early and quickly checked out from the field while a fierce battle for second unfolded among four contenders. Bloom, the defending track champion, eventually emerged from a spirited fight that included his father, Ray Bloom, and secured the runner-up position on lap six. As the race stayed green, Bloom reeled in Ropchan and made his move, taking the lead at the line on lap 13. From there, the Cottage Grove driver maintained a steady pace out front. 2023 track champion Jordan Henry, who won the previous week, attempted to close the gap in the closing laps but was unable to mount a serious challenge as Bloom went on to secure the victory in a caution-free race. Henry finished second, followed by Ropchan in third. Teenagers Keaton Augustin and Mason King [Read More]
