Cavalet Conquers Intense Selinsgrove Battle

(June 12, 2026) — A car doesn’t need fancy graphics to be fast, and Jarrett Cavalet proved that point Friday night by driving an unlettered RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car to victory in River Valley Builders PA Sprint Series action at Selinsgrove Speedway. The Hollidaysburg driver arrived at the track after spending the week rebuilding his car following a crash while battling for the lead the previous Friday. Cavalet showed speed from the outset, leading every lap of his heat race from the pole position. In the feature, however, he had work to do after starting fourth. He quickly advanced to second and spent the opening 10 laps shadowing pole sitter Josh Spicer. The pair put on one of the night’s best battles, often racing side-by-side with Cavalet never more than three-quarters of a second behind the leader. On lap 11, Cavalet used momentum from the outside groove to drive around Spicer in turns one and two. Once out front, Cavalet faced continued pressure as Spicer refused to let him pull away. Whiteaker and Maupin Top STIMS Doubleheader Weekend

By Nick Robbins SAN ANTONIO, Texas (June 14, 2026) — The Southern Touring IMCA Modified Series presented by On Demand Shirts returned to action for an exciting doubleheader weekend at Heart O’ Texas Speedway on Friday and Cotton Bowl Speedway on Saturday. Although the tracks are vastly different, both provided strong fields and exciting racing. A season-best 34 Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds signed in for action at the historic Elm Mott speed plant on Friday night, making the winner’s share $1,500. The stout field meant only two drivers from each of the evening’s five heat races would transfer directly to the feature. DIY Equipment Sales and Rental Heat One belonged to Raymond McSpadden, who took the win over Steven Whiteaker Jr. Sundowner Performance Diesel Heat Two went to Jared Maupin with Matthew Day second. Calera, Oklahoma’s William Gould won 3-D Landscaping and Irrigation Heat Three followed by “Big Brother” Paul White. Ferrando Wins Historic First IMCA Wild West Speedweek Stop at River City

(June 14, 2026) — Grey Ferrando added another chapter to his IMCA Wild West Speedweek résumé by winning the first-ever series event held at River City Speedway in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds. Defending DeVilbiss Racing Chassis Western Region and Oregon State champion Kevin Williamson paced the opening laps aboard the Superior Fuel Cells-owned No. 42. Two-time defending Wild West Speedweek SportMod champion Matt Sanders quickly emerged as a challenger and briefly completed a pass for the lead before a caution negated the move. A three-car battle between Williamson, Sanders and Ferrando erupted after the restart. Ferrando, the 2024 Cocopah Speedway and 2017 Cottage Grove Speedway track champion, edged ahead by just .014 seconds at the line on lap eight to seize the lead before a pair of cautions kept the field tightly bunched.
