Carter’s Spectacular Double Pass Highlights Dakota Tour Night at Mandan

By Ben Deatherage MANDAN, N.D. (July 9, 2026) — Jonny Carter pulled off the move of the week Thursday night at Dacotah Speedway, sweeping around both leaders with three laps remaining to score an electrifying victory in round five of the Dakota Classic Modified Tour powered by Industrial Electric. Chris Tuchscherer, the 2005 Williston Basin Speedway champion, grabbed the early lead in the 25-lap Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature, while 2024 Sheyenne Speedway track champion Jonny Carter kept him within striking distance. The Lisbon driver shadowed Tuchscherer for much of the race before beginning to mount serious challenges around lap 16. Although Tuchscherer held him off, the battle allowed 2025 IMCA TV Winter Nationals champion Shelby Williams, winner of Monday’s victory at Estevan Motor Speedway, to close the gap. Williams slipped past Carter for second on lap 19 and quickly chased down Tuchscherer. The pair raced side-by-side for the lead over the closing laps, each protecting their preferred groove. Their duel created an opening for Carter, who carried momentum around the top of turn two and [Read More]

Harris Makes Last-Lap Pass for Langley Speedway Victory

By Jim Haines HAMPTON, Va. (July 4, 2026) — Jerald Harris saved his best move for the final lap Saturday night at Langley Speedway, making an outside pass on Chase Burrow in turn one to capture the Virginia Sprint Series feature on Independence Day. Despite sweltering temperatures and fighter jets flying overhead throughout the day, Harris stayed cool when it mattered most. Chris Humblet and Aaron Leach won the heat races, but Leach’s night ended before the feature began when a broken driveline left him unable to answer the call for the RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car main event. That moved Daren Bolac and Burrow to the front row for the start. Burrow grabbed the lead when the green flag waved, with Bolac and Harris giving chase. A quick caution for a stalled car slowed the field early before Harris moved into second. Bolac ran third, followed by Humblet and Bill Mullis. On lap eight, Bolac suffered mechanical trouble. Humblet had nowhere to go and made contact, ending the night for both drivers. Burrow and Harris pulled [Read More]

Berry Extends Dakota Tour Streak with Dacotah Speedway Triumph

By Ben Deatherage MANDAN, N.D. (July 8, 2026) — Tom Berry Jr. continued his Dakota Classic Modified Tour powered by Industrial Electric dominance Wednesday night, charging to his third consecutive victory in the opening of a two-night stand at Dacotah Speedway after the scheduled stop at Southwest Speedway was relocated because of rain and saturated grounds. Nine-time reigning Williston Basin Speedway champion Travis Hagen paced the opening laps of the 30-lap Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature and quickly opened a comfortable advantage before a caution on lap six erased his lead. Berry, who started seventh, wasted little time capitalizing on the restart. The two-time Dakota Tour champion powered the Mike Wedelstadt-owned No. 11X to the lead on lap seven and immediately began pulling away from the field. Hagen settled into second while Cole Czarneski and 2012 Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s and 2014 tour champion Jeff Taylor battled intensely for third. The 2024 Wisconsin State titlist, Czarneski, finally secured the position on lap 12. Heavy lapped traffic came into play on lap 20 [Read More]
