Davenport Season Championships Rescheduled for Aug. 24

DAVENPORT, Iowa (Aug. 19, 2026) — Season Championship night at Davenport Speedway has been rescheduled for Monday, Aug. 24, after rain forced the postponement of the originally scheduled Aug. 17 program.

The program will feature Sunoco IMCA Late Models, Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds, Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods, Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, and Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks.

Track, Iowa State and Speedway Motors IMCA Weekly Racing National points will be awarded in all IMCA divisions competing during the season finale, with track champions to be crowned in five weekly IMCA classes.

Modifieds will also compete for Razor Chassis North Central Region points, Stock Cars for EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region points, and Hobby Stocks for B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region points.

Monday racing is nothing new at the historic Davenport facility. Since the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds was constructed in 1920, racing has been held on a Monday 62 times, including earlier this season.

Wet weather wins at West Burlington, 500th Deery event moves to Davenport

WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa (Sept. 27) – Inclement weather was again the winner at 34 Raceway. The Deery Brothers Summer Series event scheduled tonight (Friday) in West Burlington has been canceled because of rain and a less than promising forecast for later in the day. The 500th event in series history and finale for the 33rd annual tour for IMCA Late Models now moves to Davenport Speedway to headline the Iowa Governor’s Cup program on Saturday, Sept. 28. Pit gates open at 1 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 2 p.m. Hot laps are at 4 p.m. with racing to follow. Grandstand admission is $20 for adults, $17 for seniors and teens, and free for kids 12 and under accompanying a paid adult. The main event pays $2,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start. Werner Rules Dirt Stars Modified Main at Davenport

By Mike McGuire DAVENPORT, Iowa (Sept. 26, 2025) — In Friesen Performance IMCA Modified action at Davenport Speedway’s Dirt Stars event, Matt Werner picked up his second Davenport trophy of the season. Werner led nearly every lap of the race, mostly using the high side of the racetrack. Denny Eckrich was able to squeeze into the lead on lap 13, but Werner retook the top spot the following lap. Spencer Diercks climbed his way forward for a second-place finish. Eckrich held on to third, followed by Tim Ward and Charlie Mohr. Longnecker Scores First Davenport SportMod Win Hunter Longnecker captured his first-ever Davenport win in the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods. Austin Kemp led the opening lap after starting on the pole. Levi Heath took over on lap two and held the lead until lap 13. Ryan captures Davenport IMCA Late Model checkers

By Mike McGuire DAVENPORT, Iowa (May 11) – Matt Ryan collected his first Petersen Plumbing & Heating IMCA Late Model feature win of the season at Davenport Speedway on Friday night. Ryan wrestled the lead from Chad Holladay on lap seven and led the rest to the checkers. Lapped traffic and a caution flag gave Holladay a couple chances to get to Ryan’s bumper but he had to settle for second. Rob Toland finished a close third. Toland rolled to his second Eriksen Chevrolet IMCA Modified feature win of the season at Davenport. After an opening lap incident, Toland moved up to the front row for the restart. That was all Rob needed. Toland sped away from the field and cruised to an easy victory. Bryce Garnhart finished second with Chris Zogg third. Dustin Schram won his first Hawkeye Auto IMCA SportMod feature this year. Andrew Burk edged out Brandon Setser for second.

Mills Moves One Win From Century Mark With Schattschneider Memorial Victory at Algona

By Greg Grabianowski ALGONA, Iowa (Aug. 13, 2026) — Jeremy Mills and Troy Swearingen each earned $2,000 feature victories at the Gene Schattschneider Memorial Race held Thursday night at Kossuth County Speedway. Mills won the 25-lap Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature and moved one victory away from his 100th career win at Kossuth County Speedway. The Clear Lake driver jumped out front at the start of the 17-car feature before the first yellow flag appeared on lap four when Todd Stinehart spun. Mills remained in command following the restart and built a comfortable advantage. At the halfway point, Mills led Kyle Brown, Izac Mallicoat, Colby Fett and Chaz Baca. A second and final caution came on lap 13 when Nick Meyer suffered a flat tire, but that did little to slow Mills’ trip to victory lane and the $2,000 payday. It was Mills’ 10th victory of the season, with nine coming in the Razor Chassis North Central Region and five at Kossuth County Speedway. The triumph was also career win No. 99 at the Algona oval. Demo Sweeps Opening Two Nights of Beast of the East Showdown, Raffurty Closes Out Weekend

(Aug. 16, 2026) — After a year away from Mod Lite competition, Kyle Demo made his return known in a big way, sweeping the first two nights of the third annual OneGroup Beast of the East Showdown for Stealth Racing IMCA Mod Lites before Dillon Raffurty closed the three-race weekend with a victory Sunday at Weedsport Speedway. The three-night swing brought IMCA Mod Lites to Brewerton Speedway, Fulton Speedway, and Weedsport, with each feature paying $1,000 to win. Thirty-nine entries were on hand for each of the first two nights before the field grew to 42 for Sunday’s finale. Demo’s return to the division produced immediate results Friday at Brewerton. Starting third in the 20-lap feature, Demo worked his way to the front and took command on his way to the $1,000 victory.
