Aug. 14 Season Championship Night Set to Answer Remaining Questions at Davenport Speedway

DAVENPORT, Iowa (Aug. 6, 2026) — One night remains in the regular season at Davenport Speedway, and several intriguing storylines are set to be decided when Season Championship Night takes center stage on Friday, Aug. 14.

Among the biggest questions heading into the evening:

Will the Sunoco IMCA Late Models produce the season’s first repeat winner?

Through the first seven Late Model features, Davenport Speedway has produced seven different winners. Since the modern Late Model era began at the facility in 1998, every season has featured at least one repeat winner. Will that trend continue, or will an eighth different driver visit victory lane?

Who will claim first-time track championships?

Three of Davenport’s weekly divisions are guaranteed to crown first-time track champions. Entering the final night of points racing, new champions will be crowned in the Sunoco IMCA Late Models, Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, and Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks.

Will the championship battles change the way drivers race?

Several title fights remain too close to call. Three weekly divisions have single-digit margins separating first and second in the standings, while two classes feature three drivers within five points of the championship lead. The closest battles are in the Hobby Stocks and Stock Cars.

Those questions—and the 2026 track champions—will all be answered on Season Championship Night.

Also in action will be the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds and Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods.

Grandstands open at 5 p.m., hot laps begin at 6:30 p.m., and racing follows.

IMCA Modifieds, Northern SportMods Brawl this weekend at Davenport

DAVENPORT, Iowa (March 22, 2022) – IMCA Modifieds race for a cool $1,000 to win on night two of Davenport Speedway’s March 25 and 26 Thaw Brawl.  Modifieds and IMCA Northern SportMods are on both cards, with Friday and Saturday SportMod features paying $500 to win. The Saturday Modified winner also becomes Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligible. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Razor Chassis North Central Region and KMJ Performance State points will be awarded each night. There is no entry fee and pit passes are $40.  Pit gates open at 3 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps start at approximately 6:30 p.m. with racing to follow. $250 Sunoco bonuses for winners at Farley, Davenport and Marshalltown this week

VINTON, Iowa – The paydays get even better this week for a trio of IMCA Sunoco Late Model feature winners.  It begins Wednesday evening at 300 Raceway in Farley as the IMCA Late Model winner pockets an extra $250 courtesy of Sunoco Race Fuels. Thursday night the bonus moves to Davenport Speedway, and the night begins with last Friday’s make-up feature. Then the pot gets richer as the next $250 Sunoco Race Fuels bonus of the season will be paid to the scheduled June 25 IMCA Late Model winner. The final bonus of the week will be presented Friday night at Marshalltown Speedway. Double Late Model features are also on the card at Marshalltown, with the $250 Sunoco bonus presented to the night’s second feature winner – the evening’s originally scheduled feature. Muscatine Mall to host pre-season race car show

By Jerry Mackey MUSCATINE, Iowa (March 13, 2023) – The 2023 racing season In Eastern Iowa is just around the corner and the Muscatine Mall will be hosting a pre-season race car show to rev up the enthusiasm for the season in our area. Drivers from around the area will have their shiny new 2023 race cars on display in the Muscatine Mall starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 18. Race fans of all ages will have the opportunity to see the cars up close and will meet the drivers and crews and can ask all about their race teams and get autographs.
