Yarie, Arneson cash in at Outagamie Speedway

(June 21) – Mark Schuenemann paced the opening laps of the $1,000 to win IMCA Modified feature Friday at Outagamie Speedway before defending track champion Mar­cus Yarie came to call.  Yarie took the lead from Schuenemann and set sail, going unchallenged for his first local feature win of the season and pocketing the $1,000 payday.  Already on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot, Yarie won the green to checkered contest ahead of Schuenemann, Mike Mullen, Brian Mullen and Jerry Wilinski.   Former national champion Travis Van Straten raced to the lead on lap one of the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car headliner. After starting in row five, Eric Arneson worked to the runner-up position by lap five using the top groove.  Arneson set his sights on Van Straten, pulling even with him on lap eight. LaCrosse is double winner at Outagamie

 SEYMOUR, Wis. (June, 7) – Benji LaCrosse was the class of two fields, scoring wins in the IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars at Outagamie Speedway powered by Eastern Wiscon­sin Stock Car Racing.  Justin Ritchie jumped to the lead from his front row starting spot in the Modified main. La­Crosse quickly raced to second and set his sights on Ritchie.  With both drivers working the top groove, LaCrosse was forced to the bottom. Lap after lap, LaCrosse gained ground, eventually pulling even for the top spot.  With five laps remaining, LaCrosse took the lead from Ritchie and never looked back, scoring a popular win. Ritchie had his best run of the season to place second.    Kurt Olson led the first six laps of the Stock Car feature until Chaz Van Ooyen raced by for the top spot. Whitman captures checkers at Outagamie

(May 24) – Johnny Whitman led the last three laps before making his way to victory lane Friday night at Outagamie Speedway.  Brekken Kleinschmidt paced the opening laps of the IMCA Modified headliner until Mark Schuene­mann raced by on lap four. A series of cautions before midway kept the field bunched up. Tyler Wilson used this to his advantage, snagging the lead down low on lap 10.  Whitman worked through the field to the runner-up position after starting in row six. Wilson and Whitman worked the low groove until Wilson left the door open just enough to allow Whitman to sneak by for the lead.  Whitman led the remaining three laps while Wilson settled for second at the pay window. Mullen denies Andersen weekend sweep

By Edward Anschutz SEYMOUR, Wis. (Aug. 19) – J.J. Andersen went into the Sunday night IMCA Modified event at Outagamie Speedway seeking a weekend sweep but Brian Mullen had other ideas. The winner Friday at Luxemburg Speedway and Saturday at 141 Speedway, Anderson jumped to the early lead and appeared to be well on his way to completing the 3-for-3 weekend. Mullen raced from row four into the runner-up spot on lap five. With Andersen and Mullen both running the top groove, it looked as if that’s how they would finish but a caution on lap eight changed everything. With Mullen restarting down low, Andersen switched to the bottom of the track and allowed Mullen the preferred line up top. Mullen took the lead, going unchallenged the remainder of the event for the win. Andersen ended in second. Tyler Wilson, Johnny Whitman and Benji LaCrosse completed the top five. Outagamie win goes to Arneson 

By Scott Owen SEYMOUR, Wis. (July 22) – Lance Arneson aced the Sunday feature for IMCA Modifieds at Out­agamie Speedway. Trevor Spaulding vaulted to the early lead before Kyle Kudick and Jamie Schmidt made it a three-wide battle for the lead. Brekken Kleinschmidt passed Schmidt to move to third while Arneson advanced to fourth on the sixth circuit. Kudick, Kleinschmidt, and Arneson fought for second as Spaulding held the point posi­tion.  Arneson had his car pinned to the inside line and pulled even with Spaulding on lap 12, then took the lead the next time around. Arneson never looked back en route to victory. Kudick finished a strong second, with Johnny Whit­man making a late-race charge to third. Jason Czarapata and Wyatt Block completed the top five. Mullen flexes muscles at Outagamie

By Edward Anschutz SEYMOUR, Wis. (July 15) – Brian Mullen made his move to the front on the final circuit in win­ning Sunday’s IMCA Modified main event at Outagamie Speedway. An opening lap wreck in the open wheel headliner sent point leader Mike Mullen down pit lane with damage and he did not return. J.J. Andersen then led from the drop of the green until lap six when Konnor Wilinski took away the top spot. Wilinski paced the field, running up top as Mullen worked through the pack. Mullen began to close with five to go. Mullen made his move as the white flag flew, diving under Wilinski for the lead, the win and top spot in the point standings. Kyle Frederick collected the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car checkers and Cody Schroeder raced past Cole Mangin with four laps remaining to win the IMCA Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature. Michael Brehmer came out on top in the Mach-1 Sport Compact main.

Schulte wins first Sport Compact feature

By Edward Anschutz SEYMOUR, Wis. (July 8) – Ben Schulte led all 15 laps to score his first-ever win in the IMCA Sport Compacts Sunday at Outagamie Speedway. Tony Everard gave chase and ended in second. Cole Thomas completed the top three. Chas Van Ooyen took over the top spot on lap 13 on the way to the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car vic­tory. Brandon Czarapata closed late but had to settle for second place pay and Jeremy Christians was third. Eugene Gregorich Sr. built a sizable advantage in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod main until Lucas Lamberies broke free of traffic. With two laps remaining Lamberies made his move, slipping by Gregorich to take the win. Outagamie win goes to Long

SEYMOUR, Wis. (May 27) – Josh Long was the Sunday IMCA Modified feature winner at Out­agamie Speedway. Joey Taycher paced the opening laps with Long, Marcus Yarie and Mike Mullen giving chase. Long muscled his way down low past Taycher on lap eight for the top spot. Yarie closed in on Long, making the pass for the lead on lap 14. The caution flew simultaneously for debris and scoring went back to the last completed lap. Up against curfew the race was check­ered with Long receiving the win. Yarie had to settle for a frustrating second, Mullen was third, Lance Arneson placed fourth and Taycher completed the top five. Hansen begins title defense with Outagamie checkers

By Edward Anschutz SEYMOUR, Wis. (May 20) – One hundred and twenty-nine cars checked in to do battle for the first point night of the season Sunday at Outagamie Speedway. Defending champion Travis Hansen dominated the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature, leading every lap en route to the victory. Lucas Lamberies was second and Robby Thiel placed third. Josh Long paced the IMCA Modified field until Mike Mullen took the top spot away on lap eight. Long’s hope to regain the lead went up in smoke as his car broke and coasted to the infield. Mul­len pulled away, capturing the win with a clean sweep of the night. Benji LaCrosse had to settle for second while Brian Mullen was third.
