Block bags $1,000 IMCA Modified payday at Outagamie

SEYMOUR, Wis. (July 10) – Forty-eight IMCA Modifieds were in the house Friday at Outagamie Speedway and it was Wyatt Block bagging the $1,000 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualify­ing win.

Block jumped to the lead from his outside front row starting spot while Jason Ebert and Josh Long waged a hefty battle for the runner-up position. Ebert was finally able to dispose of Long on lap 12 and set his sights on Block.

As the laps clicked by, Ebert began to close but the lead Block had built up was too much. Block cruised to his first feature win of the season to score the rich payday.

With 31 IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars in action, it was a pair of former IMCA national champions start­ing on the front row of the $700 to-win contest as Rod Snellenberger and Benji LaCrosse brought the field to the green.

LaCrosse got the jump and quickly pulled away from the field. The caution flew with nine laps remaining but LaCrosse was unstoppable and dominated the event for his first win of the year.  Snellenberger had a hard-fought battle to place second.

Frederick is red hot at Outagamie Speedway  

By Edward Anschutz SEYMOUR, Wis. (Aug. 4, 2023) – Kyle Frederick was on fire during Saturday’s IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature at Outagamie Speedway, both literally and figuratively. Frederick raced around Larry Karcz on the fifth circuit and into the lead. As the race progressed, Frederick’s advantage began to shrink as Karcz and Brandon Czarapata chased. It became apparent why Frederick’s lead began to fade as his left rear brake rotor began to glow bright orange. Signifying a stuck brake. Frederick’s machine held on just long enough to take the checkers. Once he pulled in the tech area, the left rear burst into flames. Track officials quicky put out the fire. Czarapata was able to sneak by on the last lap to take second, Karcz had his best run of the year to place third and after starting 21st, Rod Snellenberger completed the top four.   Rookie Jeff Schmuhl grabbed the lead on lap three of the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified main and never looked back, cruising to his first win of the season. Outagamie win goes to Arneson 

By Scott Owen SEYMOUR, Wis. (July 22) – Lance Arneson aced the Sunday feature for IMCA Modifieds at Out­agamie Speedway. Trevor Spaulding vaulted to the early lead before Kyle Kudick and Jamie Schmidt made it a three-wide battle for the lead. Brekken Kleinschmidt passed Schmidt to move to third while Arneson advanced to fourth on the sixth circuit. Kudick, Kleinschmidt, and Arneson fought for second as Spaulding held the point posi­tion.  Arneson had his car pinned to the inside line and pulled even with Spaulding on lap 12, then took the lead the next time around. Arneson never looked back en route to victory. Kudick finished a strong second, with Johnny Whit­man making a late-race charge to third. Jason Czarapata and Wyatt Block completed the top five. Brandon Czarapata led from lap three to the checkers in winning the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main while Kyle Raddant ran in front from just the 18th circuit on in topping the Karl Chevrolet North­ern SportMods. Outagamie openers go to Whitman, Richards, Engebregtsen, Schulte

By Edward Anschutz  SEYMOUR, Wis. (June 12) – One hundred and fifty-two cars packed the pit area for the first night of the 2020 racing season Friday at Outagamie Speedway powered by EWSC. Defending IMCA Modified track champion Johnny Whitman drew the pole for the night’s main event and looked strong early on as Benji LaCrosse gave chase. LaCrosse closed in several times but was never able to mount a serious challenge for the lead. Whitman led flag to flag earning the victory over LaCrosse. Lucas Lamberies was third, Jason Ebert took fourth and Andy Kleczka completed the top five. Kenny Richards jumped from the pole position to the lead in the opening lap of the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature as Jeremy Christians, Luke Lemmens and Eric Mahlik battled for second. Mahlik broke free of that battle midway through the contest but couldn’t find the grip to catch Richards.
