Snellenberger survives late challenge

SEYMOUR, Wis. (Aug. 7) – Rod Snellenberger held off a determined Jeremy Christians on the final lap to score his first IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature win of the season Friday at Outagamie Speedway powered by EWSC.

Harley Simon paced the opening laps until Snellenberger slipped by on lap eight. Logan Leary and Christians quickly worked to the back bumper of Snellenberger with all three drivers running the cushion.

Christians went to the low side several times but couldn’t find the grip to get by early on. That bat­tle allowed Snellenberger to distance himself from the field. With three laps remaining, Leary got loose, allowing Christians to slip into second. Christians quickly caught the leader and made a last-ditch effort on the final corner in his attempt to earn his 100th IMCA feature, diving to the in­side as they came to the checkers.

In the end it was Snellenberger first to the stripe by half a car over Christians. Larry Karcz Jr., Brandon Czarapata and Dan Michonski completed the top five.

In IMCA Modified action it was Kevin Feck leading early until J.J. Andersen took over the top spot on lap seven. Andersen’s reign up front was short lived as Mike Mullen threw a slider to take the lead on lap nine. Mullen went unchallenged the remainder of the event to score a clean sweep on the night. Johnny Whitman extended his point lead with a second-place finish and Andersen had his best run of the season to place third.

Travis Rhoades took the lead of the Karl Kustoms Northern Sport Mod feature on lap seven and held off a late-race charge from Skyler Woods to score his second feature win of the season.

Matt Brehmer outlasted Jake Peters to score a clean sweep in the Mach-1 Sport Compacts.

Outagamie win goes to Long

SEYMOUR, Wis. (May 27) – Josh Long was the Sunday IMCA Modified feature winner at Out­agamie Speedway. Joey Taycher paced the opening laps with Long, Marcus Yarie and Mike Mullen giving chase. Long muscled his way down low past Taycher on lap eight for the top spot. Yarie closed in on Long, making the pass for the lead on lap 14. The caution flew simultaneously for debris and scoring went back to the last completed lap. Up against curfew the race was check­ered with Long receiving the win. Yarie had to settle for a frustrating second, Mullen was third, Lance Arneson placed fourth and Taycher completed the top five. Jeremy Christians raced from row two to the early lead of the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature. Travis Van Straten followed suit into the runner-up position and worked high and low on Chris­tians. Outagamie win goes to Arneson 

By Scott Owen SEYMOUR, Wis. (July 22) – Lance Arneson aced the Sunday feature for IMCA Modifieds at Out­agamie Speedway. Trevor Spaulding vaulted to the early lead before Kyle Kudick and Jamie Schmidt made it a three-wide battle for the lead. Brekken Kleinschmidt passed Schmidt to move to third while Arneson advanced to fourth on the sixth circuit. Kudick, Kleinschmidt, and Arneson fought for second as Spaulding held the point posi­tion.  Arneson had his car pinned to the inside line and pulled even with Spaulding on lap 12, then took the lead the next time around. Arneson never looked back en route to victory. Kudick finished a strong second, with Johnny Whit­man making a late-race charge to third. Jason Czarapata and Wyatt Block completed the top five. Brandon Czarapata led from lap three to the checkers in winning the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main while Kyle Raddant ran in front from just the 18th circuit on in topping the Karl Chevrolet North­ern SportMods. Hansen begins title defense with Outagamie checkers

By Edward Anschutz SEYMOUR, Wis. (May 20) – One hundred and twenty-nine cars checked in to do battle for the first point night of the season Sunday at Outagamie Speedway. Defending champion Travis Hansen dominated the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature, leading every lap en route to the victory. Lucas Lamberies was second and Robby Thiel placed third. Josh Long paced the IMCA Modified field until Mike Mullen took the top spot away on lap eight. Long’s hope to regain the lead went up in smoke as his car broke and coasted to the infield. Mul­len pulled away, capturing the win with a clean sweep of the night. Benji LaCrosse had to settle for second while Brian Mullen was third. Eric Arneson led the caution-slowed IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature until Mike Coel slipped by down low on lap 10 to secure the top spot.
