Waldvogel, Czarapata wire fields at Outagamie

SEYMOUR, Wis. (May 27) – Josh Long was the Sunday IMCA Modified feature winner at Out­agamie Speedway. Joey Taycher paced the opening laps with Long, Marcus Yarie and Mike Mullen giving chase. Long muscled his way down low past Taycher on lap eight for the top spot. Yarie closed in on Long, making the pass for the lead on lap 14. The caution flew simultaneously for debris and scoring went back to the last completed lap. Up against curfew the race was check­ered with Long receiving the win. Yarie had to settle for a frustrating second, Mullen was third, Lance Arneson placed fourth and Taycher completed the top five. By Edward Anschutz SEYMOUR, Wis. (July 22, 2022) – Mike Mullen and Tyler Wilson were IMCA winners Friday at Outagamie Speedway. Wyatt Block set the pace early in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified 20-lap feature while Mullen set up shop on the outside groove. Mullen use his momentum to take the top spot on lap five, then distanced himself from the field and leaving the battle for second between Block and Jayden Schmidt. Mullen had the race in hand but a caution with five laps remaining reset the field. Schmidt began to pressure Mullen using the low groove. With two laps remaining, Schmidt worked past Mullen out of turn two but the caution flew, erasing the pass and giving the lead back to Mullen. On the final restart, Mullen switched to the low groove and held off Schmidt to earn his third feature win of the season. There were 27 IMCA Modifieds, 33 IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, 37 Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and 29 Mach-1 Sport Compacts checked in and Wyatt Block Jr. and Marcus Yarie traded the lead early. Yarie was able to work the high side, gaining enough momentum to pull away from Block. Cautions kept the field bunched, allowing Block and LaCrosse each to mount a challenge. LaCrosse set his sights on Yarie with five to go. With Yarie running the top side, LaCrosse began to peek his nose down low under the leader. With one lap remaining, Yarie changed to the low groove as LaCrosse went sailing by up top for the win and a clean sweep of the night. Yarie has to settle for second, Block was third, Justin Ritchie ran fourth and Cody Schroeder completed the top five.
