LaCrosse leads the way at Outagamie

SEYMOUR, Wis. (Aug. 23) – Benji LaCrosse only led one lap of the IMCA Modified feature Friday at Outagamie Speedway but it was the one that paid as he stole victory from Andy Kleczka. 

Kleczka used his front row starting spot to build a huge lead early in the feature. That was erased when the caution flew just past the midway point. The first to challenge for the top spot was last week’s winner Wyatt Block Jr. as he worked down low and Kleczka ran the cushion. 

Once again, Kleczka built a gap as LaCrosse took the runner-up position with three laps remain­ing. LaCrosse closed in but remained two car lengths behind. On the final cor­ners LaCrosse came in high and dove down the track to the inside of the leader as they came to the checkers. 

When the dust settled it was LaCrosse winning by the width of his bumper in a thriller. On the other side of the coin it was heartbreak city for Kleczka who had to settle for second. Block placed third, Jerry Wilinski and rookie Cody Apfelback completed the top five.

Other feature winner were Travis Van Straten in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Cory Kemkes in the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods.

Brian Mullen motors to $1,000 payday at Outagamie Speedway

(June 24, 2022) – One hundred and forty-two racers checked to do battle at Outagamie Speedway powered by EWSC Friday night, among them 37 Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, 39 IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, 30 Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods and 19 Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts. The stage was set for the Modified main event as Brian Mullen jumped to the lead at the drop of the green as Shawn Kilgore gave chase. A pair of early cautions allowed Mike Mullen and Tyler Wilson to challenge Kilgore for the runner-up spot. As the race reached the halfway point, Mike Mullen began to apply heavy pressure to Kilgore for second place. Mike’s bid to chase down Brian went by the wayside on lap 13 as his car went spinning while side-by-side with Kilgore. Brian pulled away from the field, collecting $1,000 on the day after his birthday and earning Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility with his second win of the season and IMCA career 129th. Snellenberger is hot at Outagamie

By Edward Anschutz SEYMOUR, Wis. (June 18) – “Hot” Rod Snellenberger secured his first win of the season in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars Friday at Outagamie Speedway. Ronnie Otto paced the opening circuits until Aaron Stolp took over on lap three. Stolp was immediately dogged by Snellenberger. Snellenberger went to work, slipping by Stolp on lap nine. Snellenberger set sail, pulling away from the field for his first win of the season. Stolp had to settle for second, point leader Brandon Czarapata was third, Logan Leary took fourth and Brett Wenzel completed the top five. Jerry Wilinski took the top spot early in the IMCA Modified feature. Wilinski worked the low groove as Tyler Wilson began working through the field. Wilson used the top groove to reel in Wilinski and on lap nine took the lead away. Wilson pulled away to score the win and a clean sweep to boot. Whitman goes back-to-back at Outagamie

(June 2, 2023) – Fresh off a heat race win, Wyatt Block looked to be the man to beat early in Friday’s Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature at Outagamie Speedway. Last week’s winner Johnny Whitman joined the battle for the top spot before the midway point but with both drivers running the same line, Block was in control. That all changed once Block hit lapped traffic and had to move around the track. Once Block was deep in traffic, Whitman threw a slider in turn three, pinning Block behind a lap car. Whitman took over the top spot and dominated the remainder of the event. Block had to settle for second, Konnor Wilinski took third and fourth went to Lucas Lamberies.   It’s not over till it’s over and that was the case in the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods feature, a thriller between Corey Kemkes and Brady Harshbarger.
