Westin Abbey rings up second Lone Star Tour win at Bells

BELLS, Texas (Feb. 17) – Westin Abbey rang up a second Sniper Speed Lone Star Tour feature win Monday night, getting the best of his IMCA Sunoco Stock Car foes at Grayson County Speedway. Abbey had started 10th in the 30-lap, star-filled field at Bells, passed brother Dean for the lead just before halfway and then worked his way through traffic as the race ended with a long green flag run. Ryan Powers led the first six circuits from the pole before giving way to Dean Abbey, fresh off the win in the Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMod main. Sunday winner Derek Green was briefly into the runner-up spot following the second of two lap yellow cautions. Westin Abbey swapped second with Powers before making his way to the front on lap 14. Gould, Guillaume, Kuykendall are winners at inaugural Texas Big Four

By Steven Young BELLS, Tex. (November 2) — The Inaugural Texas Big Four at the Grayson County Speedway in Bells, Texas is in the books. In the IMCA Modified feature, it was a renewal of a Gould Chassis Red River rivalry, as Okla­homa’s William Gould and Texan Matt Guillaume faced off head-to-head early on. Gould built a decent lead during the first handful of circuits but as the lead duo approached the back of the field, Guillaume reeled in a passed Gould for the lead lap 10. Gould used lapped traffic to regain the lead, however, in turns one and two on lap 11, going on to steadily rebuild his advantage over Guillaume. One final caution with 11 laps remaining cleared the track for Gould as he continued on for the $1,000 victory. He was followed home by Michael Ables in second and Guillaume third. Dirt Dominator, Texas Big 4 slated at Grayson County

BELLS, Texas – Drivers in three IMCA divisions have two opportunities to win $1,000 during the Dirt Dominator Texas Big 4 Weekend at Grayson County Speedway. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods vie in $1,000 to win IMCA.TV Dirt Dominator king of the hill-type competition following the Thurs­day, Oct. 31 practice session. Qualifying is Friday, Nov. 1 at Bells with last-chance races and $1,000 to win, minimum $250 to start main events for the same divisions on Saturday, Nov. 2. The Modified feature is a qualifier for the 2020 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot.  There is a $50 entry fee for all divisions. 2019 IMCA Red River Modified Tour set to start this weekend, May 25-31

By Jackson Braun KENNEDALE, Texas – Pre-registration has officially closed for the 2019 edition of the IMCA Red River Modified Tour.  If the quality of racing from last year is any indication, everyone is in for a treat during the tour’s second running. Eighty-one IMCA Modifieds have registered, along with 62 Smiley’s Racing Prod­ucts Southern SportMods and 19 IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars.  Inaugural champion Chris Elliott from Abilene looks to defend his Modified crown as the stacked field of racers will try to figure out how to put together a championship run. IMCA Modifieds will compete for a $1,500 prize every night, with an entry into the feature worth a $100 payday. Winners of these events will all be qualifiers for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Elliott scores Red River Mod Tour win at Grayson County

By Mike Spieker BELLS, Texas (May 31) – The inaugural Red River IMCA Modified Tour produced its fifth different winner in as many nights Thursday at Grayson County Speedway. Chris Elliott started fifth and charged to the $1,000 payday and a berth on the Fast Shafts All Star Invitational ballot. “This feels so good,” said Elliott in victory lane. “We were working on this thing until 7:30 in the morning. The car has been really good, I just haven’t had any luck in the features. [Grayson County Speedway] is my type of place. This place is awesome. It was a lot of fun out there.” David McKay and Justin Radcliff led the field of 25 IMCA Modifieds to the green flag for the 25-lap feature.
