IMCA Modifieds race for $1K at Red River Tour shows

ARDMORE, Okla. (March 11) – The race Tim Ward has watched on TV is the race he won Thursday at Southern Oklahoma Speedway.  Ward charged all the way from 12th starting to win the IMCA Modified main event and $3,000 on opening night of the Southern Stampede. The victory was the first in Oklahoma for the much-traveled Ward and the second of the season for the Arizona native. Already on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot, he was one of 53 Modified and 120 IMCA entries for the season-opening special. “We guessed right on the car,” he said following a 30-lapper interrupted by a single caution. “We had watched this show the last couple years and it looked fun. WACO, Texas (June 27, 2022) – Heart O’ Texas Speedway gets an early start to the Independence Day Weekend celebration with the Baby Blue Harcrow Memorial for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. The winner of the final race in the Friday, July 1 and Saturday, July 2 special lassos a $5,000 top prize and earns a guaranteed starting spot in the B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational as well.  Runner-up pay is $2,500 with $1,500 for third and $1,000 for fourth. Total purse for the main event is more than $17,000 and starting the 24-car main event pays a minimum of $300.  All drivers will run two heats on Friday, with a feature that evening locking in the first qualifiers. (April 13, 2022) – All-stars in three IMCA divisions see action each night of the May 25-29 All Star Shootout.  Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds run for $1,000 to win, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods both for $750 to win beginning with opening night Wednesday, May 25 at Southern Oklahoma Speedway in Ardmore. The Shootout is then Texas-bound for shows Thursday, May 26 at Grayson County Speedway in Bells; Friday, May 27 at Boyd Raceway; Saturday, May 28 at Kennedale Speedway Park; and Sunday, May 29 at Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Waco.  All five race programs will be broadcast by IMCA.TV.
