2019 IMCA Red River Modified Tour set to start this weekend, May 25-31

KENNEDALE, Texas – Pre-registration has officially closed for the 2019 edition of the IMCA Red River Modified Tour. 

If the quality of racing from last year is any indication, everyone is in for a treat during the tour’s second running. Eighty-one IMCA Modifieds have registered, along with 62 Smiley’s Racing Prod­ucts Southern SportMods and 19 IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. 

Inaugural champion Chris Elliott from Abilene looks to defend his Modified crown as the stacked field of racers will try to figure out how to put together a championship run.

IMCA Modifieds will compete for a $1,500 prize every night, with an entry into the feature worth a $100 payday. Winners of these events will all be qualifiers for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods vie for a $1,000 prize with a $50 starting pay, while IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars will battle for $500 to win and $50 to start.

All events are draw/redraw and will be broadcast by IMCA.TV.

IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional, E3 Spark Plugs State and series points will be awarded at all events.

The tour kicks off at Kennedale Speedway Park in Kennedale, Texas, once again on Saturday, May 25, with the pits opening at 3 p.m. and the grandstand at 4 p.m. Hot laps will be at 5:15 p.m. and racing action will be underway at 6 p.m. Admission is $16 for adults, $10 for seniors and mili­tary, $5 for children ages 6-11, and free for children ages five and under. Pit passes will be $35.

Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts will also run.

The second event of the Tour will be once again held at the Heart O’ Texas Speedway near Waco, Texas, on Sunday, May 26. The pit gates and grandstand are set to open at 5 p.m. with hot laps at 6:15 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m. Admission is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors, military and students, $5 for children ages 6-12, and free for children ages five and under. Pit passes will be $35.

Stephenville, Texas’ 281 Speedway will host the third night of the tour on Memorial Day. The pits will open at noon with grandstands to follow at 4 p.m. Hot laps will start at 5:30 p.m. with racing at 6 p.m. Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, military, first responders, and students, $5 for children ages 6-12, and free for children ages five and under. Pit passes will be $35. Mach-1 Mach-1 Sport Compacts will also run.

Big O Speedway in Ennis, Texas, will make their tour debut this season on Tuesday, May 28. Pit gates will open at 5 p.m. with grandstands opening at 6 p.m. Hot laps are slated for 7:15 p.m. with rac­ing to begin at 8 p.m. Admission is $15 for adults, $5 for children ages 3-10, and free for chil­dren ages two and under. Pit passes will be $30.

Grayson County Speedway in Bells, Texas, will hold a practice night on Wednesday, May 29. Pits will open at 5 p.m. and grandstands at 6 p.m. The practice will begin at 7:30 p.m. Admission will be free for the grandstands. Pit passes will be $20.

The next night, Grayson County will run their round of the tour. Pit gates will open at 5 p.m. with the grandstands opening at 6 p.m. Hot laps will be run at 7 p.m. and racing will get underway at 8 p.m. Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, military, and students, and free for children un­der 48 inches tall. Pit passes will be $30.

The finale will be held at Southern Oklahoma Speedway in Ardmore, Okla., once again on Friday, May 31. Pit gates and the grandstands will open up at 5 p.m. with hot laps starting between 6:30 and 6:45 p.m. Racing action will start at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for children ages 6-12, and free for children ages five and under. Pit passes will be $30.

RACEceivers and Westhold Transponders will be mandatory at all tracks. Mufflers are required at Kennedale and 281.

Lone Star Super Gas and Smiley’s Racing Products have reached multiple year agreements to support the tour. Lone Star Super Gas has jumped on to become the title sponsor of the tour, and Smi­ley’s Racing Products is the presenting sponsor.
