Dailey is surprise winner in Fairmont Redline Racing Parts North Star Series feature

FAIRMONT, Minn. (July 4) – Eric Dailey became the surprise winner of a rain-shortened Redline Racing Parts North Star Series feature for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds Friday at Fairmont Raceway. He’d started fifth and was up to third before lining up on the outside for a lap five restart. He slowly reeled in Jeff Ignaszewski and then Roger Nielsen for the lead and was still in front when rain forced an early end half way through the scheduled 20-lapper. “I just came around and there were the double checkers,” Dailey said. The victory was his division-leading sixth in the series and tour career third at Fairmont. Nielsen, Ignaszewski, Jay Noteboom and Josh Rogotzke rounded out the top five. Mattison charges to Stock Car win in Redline Racing Parts North Star Series

SLAYTON, Minn. (June 13) – Gary Mattison raced better on the track than he drew for position. As a result, he drove away from the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car field for his career-first Redline Racing Parts North Star Series feature win Friday night at Murray County Speedway. Mattison started 10th and caught defending champion Jim Larson and Matt Speckman after halfway for the lead and the eventual victory. “I went to the high side to pass,” Mattison said. “The car was good and I just tried to be patient.” Larson ended in second. Hard charger Jake Masters moved up 10 spots to third, Speckman was fourth and Jake Bruns completed the top five. Redline Racing Parts North Star Series at Slayton, Arlington this weekend

SLAYTON, Minn. – The only doubleheader of the 2014 tour is on tap this weekend for the Redline Racing Parts North Star Series. Five IMCA divisions see series action on Friday, June 13 at Murray County Speedway in Slayton and again Saturday, June 14 at Arlington Raceway. Three defending champions, Jim Larson in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Matt Looft in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Nate Coopman in the Mach-1 Sport Compacts, take point leads to Slayton. Stock star gets career first Modified win in IMCA Redline Racing Parts North Star Series

REDWOOD FALLS, Minn. (June 8) – The driver with the most career Stock Car tour wins became the driver with the most recent Redline Racing Parts North Star Series Modified victory Sunday at Redwood Speedway. Dustin Larson earned his career first IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified checkers by passing Curt Lund for the lead on the seventh of 20 laps and then holding off challenges from Jerry Wren. “I was pretty happy to pass Curt. He’s pretty good,” said Larson, an eight-time series Stock Car winner and the 2012 champion. “This was my eighth night in a Modified and I’m starting to get the hang of it. REDWOOD FALLS, Minn. (May 28) – Redwood Speedway rolls out the red carpet for round three of the Redline Racing Parts North Star Series, with five IMCA divisions on the track this Sunday, June 1. IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Mach-1 Sport Compacts all vie on the half-mile dirt oval at Redwood Falls. Dailey delivers with late pass in Fairmont North Star show

FAIRMONT, Minn. (May 9) – Tenth starting Eric Dailey was first following a green, white, checkered finish to the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified feature in Friday’s Redline Racing Parts North Star Series feature at Fairmont Raceway. After running third much of the way, Dailey had slipped into second before getting caught in a multi-car tangle on the 25th and final circuit. He went low and caught leader Josh Meyer on the final turn for the victory, his series career and division-leading fifth. Meyer, Jay Noteboom, Roger Nielsen and Tad Reutzel completed the top five. Hollerich rumbles to first IMCA Modified win in Redline North Star Series opener at Jackson

JACKSON, Minn. (April 26) – Opening night of the third annual Redline Racing Parts North Star Series set the stage for Mat Hollerich’s IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified career-first feature win. The $800 checkers came Saturday at Jackson Speedway. Hollerich started on the pole and checked out on everybody in a 20-lap feature that ran caution-free. “I worked pretty darned hard,” said Hollerich, who steered through lapped traffic to win well ahead of Greg Jacobsen.
