Saturday show at Jackson next for North Star Touring Series 

JACKSON, Minn. – Saturday’s IMCA’s North Star Tour show sees five IMCA divisions back in a familiar series setting. Jackson Speedway is site of the June 6 card featuring Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Mach-1 Sport Compacts. Pit gates open at 4:30 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. with racing to follow. Grandstand admission is $12 for adults, $10 for students ages 13-17 and free for kids 12 and under. More information is available by calling 507 841-2450 and at the www.jacksonspeedway.com website. North Star drivers have visited Jackson Speedway twice each of the last three seasons. The first tour event outside Minnesota is scheduled tonight (Thursday) at Kossuth County Speedway in Algona, Iowa.

IMCA North Star Series opens with three Memorial Weekend dates

SLAYTON, Minn. (May 18) – Murray County Speedway hosts first-night action when the IMCA North Star Touring Series opens with three events during the Memorial holiday weekend. The fourth annual tour is at Slayton on Friday, May 22; at Arlington Raceway on Saturday, May 23; and at Redwood Speedway in Redwood Falls on Sunday, May 24. IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Mach-1 Sport Compacts are in action each evening. Pit gates and the grandstand open at 5 p.m. at Murray County. Racing follows 7:15 p.m. hot laps. Spectator admission is $10 for adults, $6 for students ages 11-15 and free for kids 10 and under when accompanying a paid adult. Reutzel reigns again at Jackson Nationals

JACKSON, Minn. (Sept. 27) – Something about the Jackson Nationals brings out the best in Tad Reutzel. Reutzel led every time around the track in Saturday’s 20-lap IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified main event at Jackson Speedway in a program that doubled as the final night for the Redline Racing Parts North Star Series. The Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying checkers paid $1,500. Jason Andrews and Justin Luinenburg earned the same amount for Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock victories, respectively. Devin Smith’s IMCA Sunoco Stock Car win was also Jackson’s annual Doug Cellan Memorial event. Jay DeVries scored the $500 Mach-1 Sport Compact win. JACKSON, Minn. (Sept. 25) – IMCA’s Redline Racing Parts North Star Series wraps up its fourth season during the 36th annual Jackson Nationals program on Saturday, Sept. 27. The IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature is also part of the Doug Cellan Memorial and pays $1,750 to win. Touring IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks all race for $1,500 to win; the Modified feature is a qualifier for the 2015 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. First place in the Mach-1 Sport Compact main event is good for $500. North Star Series checkers fly for five, Benson best in Arlington Sprint tour field

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Sept 13) – Six drivers won IMCA special events features Saturday at Arlington Raceway. Redline Racing Parts North Star Series victories went to Brandon Beckendorf in the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, Dan Mackenthun in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Eric Larson in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, Justin Luinenburg in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Nate Coopman in the Mach-1 Sport Compacts. Clint Benson made another long tow from Nebraska pay off with the RaceSaver Sprint Series of Minnesota triumph. Chad Porter had the early lead in the Modified feature but on the fifth lap, Beckendorf got around him and led the remaining 15 laps. Defending Modified champion gets first 2014 North Star Series win

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 9) – Defending IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified champion Bran­don Beckendorf got his first win of the 2014 Redline Racing Parts North Star Series Saturday at Arlington Raceway. Jeff Coon led the first 16 laps before a caution brought the field back together. On the restart, Becken­dorf dove in and took the lead away with Dan Menk right behind him. Coon then went into the pit area with a flat tire. Beckendorf led the remaining five laps with Menk on his tail and Curt Lund moving up from his 14th place start to challenge but ultimately settling for third. The victory was Beckendorf’s series career fifth. Gary Mattison drew pole and led the first three laps of the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main before giving way to Dan Mackenthun. Larsons win twice in Murray County Redline North Star Series show

SLAYTON, Minn. (Aug. 8) – Dustin Larson won his second IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified tour feature Friday night, when the Redline Racing Parts North Star Series visited Murray County Speedway. Larson drew the pole for the 20-lapper and held onto the front spot through a series of early cau­tions. His brother Jeff made a charge during a long green flag run but had to settle for second. Dalton Magers, Jason Fisher and Josh Bonnstetter rounded out the top five. Dustin Larson had won the first North Star feature of his brief Modified career at Redwood Speedway on June 8. The Larson clan also celebrated an IMCA Sunoco Stock Car victory as patriarch Jim took the lead with three laps left in that contest and held off Matt Speckman. Lund gets back on track for Redline North Star Series win at Redwood

REDWOOD FALLS, Minn. (July 20) – Once he got back on track, Curt Lund got his first Redline Racing Parts North Star Series win of the season at Redwood Speedway. Lund started Sunday’s IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified feature from the pole and led all 20 laps despite driving off the second set of turns just before midway. He got back on the track as Dalton Magers and Brandon Beckendorf made up ground, then pulled away to the checkers. Beckendorf, Magers, Josh Rogotzke and Tyler Limoges completed the top five. The tour victory was Lund’s career third; he’d won two North Star events in 2012. Matt Speckman won his career second IMCA Sunoco Stock Car tour feature while Danny Myrvold and Jamie Songer were first-time winners in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, respectively.
