Tri-City announces 2019 blood drive partnership openings

AUBURN, Mich.– Tri-City Motor Speedway is partnering with area businesses and non-profit groups hosting blood drives with the American Red Cross or Michigan Blood to help increase do­nor participation during the summer months. Tri-City officials are seeking local blood drives held during May, June or July throughout the surround­ing communities including, but not limited to Auburn, Bay City, Beaverton, Gladwin, Mid­land, Mt. Pleasant, Pinconning and Saginaw.   Each participating blood drive will receive one adult grandstand race ticket valued at $14 to give out to all donors who attempt to give blood. Race tickets will be valid for any regular Friday night through Aug. 23, 2019.  In addition to partnering with area blood drives, Tri-City will host a blood drive on June 7. “We want to give back to our community. 34 Raceway bringing back IMCA Late Models

WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa – Fans will welcome a very familiar division back to Saturday programs at 34 Raceway this season.  IMCA Late Models return to the 3/8-mile dirt oval at West Burlington, where the division had last run weekly in 2012.  “We wanted to bring Late Models back. We had done our research and when IMCA decided to go with the crate engine option it was a very good step in the right direction,” promoter Brad Stevens said. “The division fits with our budget and we will alternate weeks with Lee County Speedway.”  Sanctioned Late Models had run weekly at 34 from 1987-1992 and 1997-2012. Ice Breaker starts season at Abilene Speedway this weekend

ABILENE, Texas – Abilene Speedway hosts its traditional season-opening Ice Breaker on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 15 and 16. IMCA Modifieds run for $700 to win and Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods for $600 each night. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars run for $600 to win on Friday and for $750 to win their Lone Star Tour opener on Saturday. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Razor Chassis South Central and EQ Cylinder Heads Southern Region, Texas State and track points will be awarded for both draw/redraw programs.  The pits open at 4 p.m. and racing begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday. IMCA Modifieds chase $2K at Pahrump’s Stormin’ Mormon

PAHRUMP, Nev. – IMCA Modifeds race for $2,000 to win and a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berth at Pahrump Valley Speedway’s Saturday, March 2 Stormin’ Mormon Showdown.  The runner-up earns $1,000 with $750 paid for third and $500 for fourth, with a minimum of $200 paid to make the 20-car starting field. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Larry Shaw Race Cars Western Region and Ne­vada State points will be awarded.  The draw and pre-tech run from 2-4 p.m. Wheel packing is at 4 p.m. and precedes hot laps. Decal packets being mailed

VINTON, Iowa – Modified, Late Model and RaceSaver Sprint Car decal packets are now being mailed to IMCA drivers who have purchased competitor’s licenses for 2019.  Packets for Stock Car, Hobby Stock, both SportMod and Sport Compact divisions will go in the mail as soon as they are completed; licenses and claim cards (in applicable divisions) will be included in decal packets.

Black Hills Speedway adding IMCA Modifieds, RaceSaver Sprints

Two more IMCA divisions will be featured this season on Friday race pro­grams at Black Hills Speedway. IMCA Modifieds and IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars join IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks on the half-mile dirt oval at Rapid City. A car show and test ‘n tune session is on the tentative schedule for April 27 with the IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing opener on May 3.  The 2019 season will be the fourth for sanctioned Hobby Stocks at Black Hills. “We have had a non-sanctioned sprint car class the last few seasons. IMCA Late Models return to weekly programs at Boone County Raceway

ALBION, Neb. (Feb. 6) – IMCA Late Models return to weekly programs at Boone County Raceway this sea­son. The Friday night venue at Albion becomes the latest Nebraska venue to add the premier division in 2019. “Sanctioning Late Models was one of the best things we could do. The new sanctions will benefit all four tracks,” said promoter Mike Trollope, citing the addition of the class at Columbus, McCool Junction and Norfolk as well. “We really like the rules. Going with IMCA makes it easier for us to tech and more fair for the racer.” Boone County had run sanctioned Late Models during the 1995 and 1996 seasons. The division joins IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts on Albion’s 3/8-mile dirt oval.  The IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing point season opens on April 19 and runs through Aug. 16, with Aug. 23 designated as the rain date for season championship night. 281 Speedway starts new season with IMCA Big Chill Throwdown special

STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Four IMCA divisions are on the card for both nights of 281 Speedway’s season-open­ing Big Chill Throwdown.  IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Smi­ley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts will be featured in Friday and Saturday, Feb. 8 and 9 shows.  Modifieds race for $600 to win, Stock Cars and  Southern SportMods both for $500 and Sport Compacts for $200 each night. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, re­gional, Texas State and track points will be awarded both nights. Fast Shafts qualifier slated Feb. 27 at LVMS Dirt Track

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – IMCA Modifieds run for $1,000 to win and a berth on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot at their Wednesday, Feb. 27 show at Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s half-mile Dirt Track. The feature pays a minimum of $75 to start with $50 paid to non-qualifiers. Entry fee is $25. IMCA Late Models gain new Thursday home at Nebraska’s U.S. 30 Speedway

COLUMBUS, Neb. – Another sanctioned division has joined weekly race programs at one of the longest IMCA tenured tracks in Nebraska.  U.S. 30 Speedway presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts adds the IMCA Late Model division to its regular Thursday shows. The 1/3-mile clay oval at Columbus is one of four newly sanctioned tracks in eastern Nebraska.  “We sat down with officials from the other tracks and agreed to go with the same set of rules,” explained Bobby Lincoln, co-promoter at U.S. 30 with his wife Janelle. “It made sense to go with IMCA. We were already sanctioned by them for everything else.”  “The sanction gives Late Model drivers the opportunity to race for national and state points and point fund shares,” he added. “It’s a way we can give back to them more.” Opening night at Columbus is set for April 18.
