Friday Oil Capital Racing Series show moved to Creek County Speedway

TULSA, Okla. – Due to over seven inches of rain at Caney Valley Speedway over the past weekend, the track will not be able to host the AmeriFlex /Oil Capital Racing Series IMCA RaceSaveer Sprint Cars on Friday. 

Creek County Speedway has stepped up and will run the series both Friday and Saturday this week. 

On Friday, gates open at 4 p.m., sign-in from 5:30-6:30 p.m., drivers’ meeting at 6:45 p.m., hot laps at 7:15 p.m. and racing at 8 p.m. And on Saturday, gates open at 3 p.m., Sign-in is from 3:30-4:30 p.m., drivers’ meeting at 4:45 p.m., hot laps at 5:15 p.m. and racing at 6 p.m. 

Mufflers are mandatory both nights. Both nights are standard $1,000 to win, $225 to start feature events.

Free grandstand admission for Friday Oil Capital show at Outlaw Motor Speedway

By John Rittenoure TULSA, Okla. – Friday night will be a night to remember for AmeriFlex Oil Capital Racing Series IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car fans. Outlaw Motor Speedway will host a complete night of racing and grandstand admission free.   The April 16 feature winner will earn $1,000 with a $250 minimum paid to start. Heat race winners will earn $100.  Five different winners, among them Joe Bob Lee, Johnny Kent, 2018 champion Alex Sewell, Noah Harris and Steven Shebester, have produced a balanced field coming into Friday night’s show.  Pit gates open at 5 p.m. and the draw ends at 6:30 p.m. The drivers’ meeting is at 6:45 p.m., hot laps are at 7:30 p.m. and racing starts at 8 p.m. Pit passes are $35.

Drought ends for Lee with Sunday Oil Capital RaceSaver win at Meeker

(March 7) – It has been a long time in coming for Joe Bob Lee.  One of the most loyal followers of the AmeriFlex/Oil Capital Racing Series for IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars, Lee has spent the past four years traveling to each race on the OCRS schedule from his home in the far southwest Oklahoma town of Cache hoping to pick up a main event win.   Sunday, it finally happened. Lee took over the lead just a few laps before the halfway point in the 30-lap feature of Spring Nationals at Red Dirt Raceway and raced unchallenged for his first career series victory.  “It is going on four years straight I have been running with the series,” Lee said, thinking back to when he started running with OCRS. “It is finally good to get the monkey off my shoulders.“ Lee credited the work of his family, crew and sponsors for his success.   “We have had a lot of top 5 and top 10’s. Edwards off to fast 2022 start, wins Oil Capital main at Creek County

By John Rittenoure  KELLYVILLE, Okla. (March 19, 2022) – Blake Edwards came close to winning his first AmeriFlex/Oil Capital Racing Series IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car main event two weeks ago with a second place finish at Red Dirt Raceway. Saturday at Creek County Speedway, Edwards got the win, taking the lead after a lap 14 restart and pacing the field to the checkers for his first OCRS career victory.   “We have been fast the first three races, almost won the second night at Meeker and finally won tonight,” said the smiling Edwards.   Two-time 2021 Creek County OCRS winner Noah Harris jumped into the early lead from the outside front row and was chased by pole sitter Alex Sewell in second and Edwards in third after two lap one restarts. Edwards passed Sewell for second on lap 12.  On lap 14, the yellow waved for a mishap that saw Edwards and Harris make contact.
