Czarapata gets first Outagamie win of season

By Edward Anschutz SEYMOUR, Wis. (June 25) – Friday’s IMCA Modified headliner at Outagamie Speedway started with J.J. Andersen jumping to an early lead as Cody Schroeder and Jason Czarapata gave chase. Czarapata was the first to work the cushion, working his way around Schroeder for second. Czarapata set his sights on Andersen, who was running the tires. Czarapata swept around Andersen and to the lead on lap nine. Schroeder followed suit around the outside, closing right to the back bumper of Czarapata. Schroeder made every move possible but couldn’t find the grip to make the pass. Czarapata scored his first win of the season and a clean sweep to boot. Schroeder had to settle for second at the pay window, Andersen was third. The race went green to checkers. Snellenberger is hot at Outagamie

By Edward Anschutz SEYMOUR, Wis. (June 18) – “Hot” Rod Snellenberger secured his first win of the season in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars Friday at Outagamie Speedway. Ronnie Otto paced the opening circuits until Aaron Stolp took over on lap three. Stolp was immediately dogged by Snellenberger. Snellenberger went to work, slipping by Stolp on lap nine. Snellenberger set sail, pulling away from the field for his first win of the season. Stolp had to settle for second, point leader Brandon Czarapata was third, Logan Leary took fourth and Brett Wenzel completed the top five. Jerry Wilinski took the top spot early in the IMCA Modified feature. Wilinski worked the low groove as Tyler Wilson began working through the field. Hebbe conquers IMCA Stock Car competition at Outagamie Speedway

By Edward Anschutz SEYMOUR, Wis. (June 11) – Larry Karcz Jr. held court early in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature Friday at Outagamie Speedway as he ran the top groove with Kevin Hebbe giving chase. Midway through the contest, Hebbe pulled even with Karcz. The duo battled door-to-door with Hebbe taking the top spot on lap 12. Karcz stayed within striking distance but in the end, it was Hebbe besting a solid field of cars for his first win of the season. Karcz had to settle for second at the pay window. Brandon Czarapata was third, Rod Snellenberger took fourth and Logan Leary completed the top. In the IMCA Modifieds, Lucas Lamberies threaded the needle from his second row starting spot to make a three-wide pass for the lead on the opening lap. Block, Czarapata, Steenbergen are best at Outagamie

(June 4) – One hundred and forty-two racers checked in to do battle at Outagamie Speedway powered by EWSC Friday with IMCA wins going to Wyatt Block Jr., Brandon Czarapata and Jeff Steenbergen. Rookie Jacob Ambrosious paced the open laps of the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature until Chas Van Ooyen took the lead on lap five. Van Ooyen immediately came under fire from Czarapata and Rod Snellenberger. Czarapata used the low groove to slip by for the lead on lap 10. Czarapata pulled away as Van Ooyen fell to the wayside with a busted tie rod. Czarapata cruised to his second feature in a row. Snellenberger had his best run of the season to place second, Kevin Hebbe came through the last chance qualifier to take third, Travis Van Straten was fourth and Logan Leary completed the top five. Late race heroics net LaCrosse Outagamie feature win

By Edward Anschutz SEYMOUR, Wis. (May 14) – His late-race heroics put Benji LaCrosse in victory lane at Outagamie Speedway Friday night. There were 27 IMCA Modifieds, 33 IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, 37 Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and 29 Mach-1 Sport Compacts checked in and Wyatt Block Jr. and Marcus Yarie traded the lead early. Yarie was able to work the high side, gaining enough momentum to pull away from Block. Cautions kept the field bunched, allowing Block and LaCrosse each to mount a challenge. LaCrosse set his sights on Yarie with five to go. With Yarie running the top side, LaCrosse began to peek his nose down low under the leader. With one lap remaining, Yarie changed to the low groove as LaCrosse went sailing by up top for the win and a clean sweep of the night. (May 7) – One hundred and seventy-eight racers checked in to do battle at Outagamie Speedway Friday night, among them 38 IMCA Modifieds, 39 IMCA Stock Cars, 39 IMCA Sport Mods, 33 IMCA Sport Compacts and 29 Unified Street Stocks. Defending IMCA Sunoco Stock Car champion Eric Arneson paced the opening lap until former national champion Travis Van Straten took the top spot. Tim Warner cleared the Arneson machine for the runner-up position and set his sights on Van Straten. Warner went to work on the outside groove, pulling past Van Straten and to the lead. Van Straten came roaring back as the duo traded the lead over the next several laps. With two laps remaining, Warner gained the edge he needed to score his first-ever IMCA Stock Car feature win. Mroczkowski edges Van Straten for Outagamie checkers

(Aug. 21) – Josh Mroczkowski took the lead with five laps remaining and went on to win the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature by inches over Travis Van Straten at Outagamie Speedway Friday night. Tyler Wendt raced from the outside pole to the lead on the opening lap. Mroczkowski came to call just past the midway point to take the lead away from Wendt down low. The duo traded the lead over the next few laps with Mroczkowski racing back to the top spot on lap 15. Mroczkowski moved to the upper groove, which allowed Logan Leary and Van Straten to race three-wide under the leader. As the checkers flew it was a two-horse race of Van Straten and Mroczkowski racing to the finish line as the pair came across the stripe in a visual dead heat. (Aug. 14) – Horicon’s Jeremy Christians celebrated another milestone in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars with his 100th win Friday night at Outagamie Speedway powered by EWSC. Tyler Wendt paced the opening circuits of the Stock Car feature. Wendt locked in up top as Christians quickly worked his way to the runner-up position using the low groove and slipped by for the lead on lap four. Christians put his Victory Chassis on the cushion and pulled away from the field. A caution with three to go set up a dash to the checkers but no one had anything for Christians as he went uncontested en route to his 100th IMCA feature win. Snellenberger survives late challenge

(Aug. 7) – Rod Snellenberger held off a determined Jeremy Christians on the final lap to score his first IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature win of the season Friday at Outagamie Speedway powered by EWSC. Harley Simon paced the opening laps until Snellenberger slipped by on lap eight. Logan Leary and Christians quickly worked to the back bumper of Snellenberger with all three drivers running the cushion. Christians went to the low side several times but couldn’t find the grip to get by early on. That battle allowed Snellenberger to distance himself from the field. With three laps remaining, Leary got loose, allowing Christians to slip into second. Christians quickly caught the leader and made a last-ditch effort on the final corner in his attempt to earn his 100th IMCA feature, diving to the inside as they came to the checkers. Schmidt sweeps IMCA Modified action at Outagamie

By Edward Anschutz SEYMOUR, Wis. (July 31) – Night six of the season saw 120-plus cars on action and Jamie Schmidt proved to be the fastest of the 41 IMCA Modifieds entered. Mark Schuenemann shot to the lead of the Modified feature from the front row as Schmidt, Jason Czarapata and Benji LaCrosse gave chase. Schuenemann worked the outside groove with the competition hot on his heals running the same groove. A caution with three laps remaining changed everything. As the race resumed, Schuenemann went to the bottom groove, which allowed Schmidt to slip by up top. Schmidt pulled away to score the win and a clean sweep to boot. Lucas Lamberies made a late race charge to place second, Schuenemann was third, LaCrosse took fourth and Jason Czarapata completed the top five.
