Sunday bag toss tourney new at Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa – Pride, bragging rights and shares of a $900-plus payout will be on the line in the Sunday, Sept. 1 bag toss tourney at Boone Speedway. Entry fee for each of a maximum of 32 teams is $30, with the top four teams earning cash back at the conclusion of the inaugural, single elimination tourney. Entry forms will be posted online. All money received as entry fees will be paid back and all teams must be comprised of two people, each with a direct tie to the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. “That means drivers, crew members, sponsors or campers,” explained Boone Speedway’s Coty Mallicoat. “No ringers.” IMCA, Boone Speedway and MyRacePass will also give prizes to bag toss (aka cornhole) tourney competitors. The tourney will start at approximately noon Sunday at a location near the east catwalk in the pit area during the Arnold Motor Supply Sunday Funday. Building on success, Berry to raise bar for Super Nationals

NEWBURG, N.D. – He’s already had a season full of career highlights, but Tom Berry Jr. will be looking to raise the bar again at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. “We’re going to go to Boone with the goal of making the show. Once you qualify, you can race hard and try to win the thing,” said Berry, from Newburg, N.D., and most recently winner of Hancock County Speedway’s Night of 10,000 Stars IMCA Modified man event. “We’re already in the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational and are eligible to qualify for the Harris Auto Racing Race of Champions. Defying the odds, Smith returns to race and represent PA in All-Star Invitational

COLUMBIA CROSSROADS, Pa. – A year and a half ago, doctors were telling Brad Smith he’d never race again. In July, his family, friends and fellow IMCA Modified drivers were calling and texting to congratulate the Columbia Crossroads, Pa., driver on his election to the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. Drivers must pre-enter for Super Nationals to compete in Aug. 31 Prelude at Boone

BOONE, Iowa – Modified, Stock Car, Northern SportMod and Hobby Stock drivers must be pre-entered for the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s to compete in the Saturday, Aug. 31 Wild Rose and Casino Resort Prelude at Boone Speedway. “There were approximately 240 cars entered in the Prelude last year. Those types of numbers have a tremendous effect time-wise on the sign-in and lineup process,” explained IMCA President Brett Root. “Accepting unexpected and large numbers of late entries effects the entire process and would result in a late start and late conclusion to the Prelude race program.” The Prelude Modified feature pays $1,000 to win and is a qualifying event for the 2020 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. First from Oregon to qualify, Ferrando has sights on return to Modified dance at Super Nationals

STAYTON, Ore. – Grey Ferrando made history last September as the first driver from Oregon to qualify for the Modified main event at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. $7,000-plus added to Super Nationals purse in cash bonuses, lap money and gift cards

BOONE, Iowa – Drivers competing at the upcoming IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s will leave Boone Speedway with more than $7,000 in cash bonuses, lap money and gift cards. The 37th annual Super Nationals runs Sept. 2-7. Bonuses, lap leader money and gift cards paid out during the week complement the regular purse for the biggest and best event in all of dirt track racing. Quick Performance gives $100 bonuses to the winners of three qualifying features for Hobby Stocks, three qualifying features for Northern SportMods and six Stock Car qualifying features. Aug. 23 is deadline for Super Nationals pit stall reservations

BOONE, Iowa – Pit stall reservations for the 37th annual IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s must be made by noon on Friday, Aug. 23. Modified, Stock Car, Hobby Stock and Northern SportMod drivers must be pre-entered before they make pit stall reservations. Pit stalls at Boone Speedway are $100 and must be reserved online. In the event a driver does not show up as scheduled, their pit stall will be issued to another driver. A waiting list will be started for overflow and drivers who cannot be accommodated will receive refunds. Pit stall reservations are not required for Late Models and Sport Compacts, which are both one-day programs. The next 13 drivers with the highest vote totals, regardless of region, become All-Stars.
