Sport Compacts added to Sept. 5 Prelude at Boone

BOONE, Iowa – Mach-1 Sport Compact drivers will have another opportunity to race at Iowa’s Action Track before taking their turn on the big stage during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nation­als fueled by Casey’s.  The division has been added to the card for the Saturday, Sept. 5 Wild Rose Casino Prelude at Boone Speedway, running for a top prize of $150 and a minimum of $25 to start. Non-qualifier pay will be $25. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Kustoms North­ern SportMods complete the card.  Pit gates open at 2 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 3 p.m. Hot laps are at 4 p.m. with racing at 5 p.m.

IMCA.TV adds to Super Nation­als Broadcast Bonuses

BOONE, Iowa – More drivers will make more money in IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s main events. IMCA officials have announced nearly $8,000 in additional IMCA.TV Broadcast Bonuses will be awarded to Modified, Stock Car, Hobby Stock, Northern SportMod, Late Model and Sport Com­pact drivers for top five finishes in their respective main events at the 38th annual Super Nationals Sept. 7-12 at Boone Speedway.  That amount complements the $14,100 guaranteed to eligible Super Nationals champions an­nounced last month.  “Obviously there is much more to the event than money but at the same time we want the purse to reflect the magnitude of Super Nationals,” IMCA President Brett Root stated. “IMCA.TV Broadcast Bonuses help supplement that. Harris Auto Racing returns as title sponsor for Super Nationals Modified Race of Champions

Trever Sloan new to All-Star Invitational field

BOONE, Iowa – Trever Sloan has been named to the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational field. The IMCA Modified driver from Lake Odessa, Mich., replaces Brandon Smith, who will be unable to compete at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Notable firsts, previous race winners among 28 drivers elected to Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational

BOONE, Iowa – IMCA Modified drivers from a dozen states, representing notable first-time competitors as well as previous race winners, have been elected to start the 17th annual Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. Kelsie Foley of Tucson, Ariz., becomes the first female driver elected to the All-Star race. Other first-time All-Stars who will take the green flag in the Friday, Sept. 11 spectacular, during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s at Boone Speedway, are David Goode Jr. of Copperas Cove, Texas, Jake O’Neil, also of Tucson, and Brandon Smith of Bath, N.Y.  They’ll be joined on the starting grid by defending race winner Joel Rust of Grundy Center, 2018 winner Hunter Marriott of Brookfield, Mo., 2013 winner Todd Shute of Norwalk, 2011 winner Chris Abelson of Sioux City and 2005 and 2008 winner Jay Noteboom of Hinton. Super Tuesday All-Star voting begins

VINTON, Iowa (Aug. 11) – It’s Super Tuesday and voting for the 17th annual Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational voting has begun.  Twenty-eight of the 30 IMCA Modified drivers starting the All-Star race, to be held Sept. 11 at Boone Speedway during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s, will be elected today. All voting will be conducted on the IMCA Facebook page with the electronic polls open until 9 p.m. CST. Voters must cast ballots for 10 candidates.  The top three vote recipients from each of the five Modified regions are guaranteed starting spots, with their region of candidacy determined by where they made the majority of their IMCA sanctioned starts. The next 13 drivers with the highest vote totals, regardless of region, become All-Stars.  Completing the field will be drivers with the top national point total and with the most 40-point feature wins as of Aug. 28 who compete at Super Nationals. Health care heroes nominations sought for honorary starters of last-chance features

BOONE, Iowa – Fans and drivers will get the opportunity to applaud three health care heroes Saturday during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s.  Anyone currently working on the frontline of health care can be nominated to be an honorary starter for each of the Modified last-chance features on the Sept. 12 race program. “This is one more way we can recognize and thank individuals who have provided care and encouragement to so many of us in recent months,” noted IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder. “There is no better time or place to do so than on Saturday night during Super Nationals at Boone Speedway.”  Letters or emails of nomination should be 500 words or less and tell about the nominee and how they have gone above and beyond in providing care during the pandemic.  Nominations should be directed to Yoder at the IMCA home office or kyoder@imca.com.

IMCA expands RoC qualifications for 2020 Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa – IMCA officials have announced that more drivers will be eligible to qualify for the race of champions in their respective divisions at the upcoming IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. 2019 track champions, as well as 2020 champions or current point leaders, along with former RoC winners, Super Nationals, national and regional champions, will be eligible to qualify.  “There was a need to adjust eligibility because of the situation a number of tracks have experi­enced in 2020,” explained IMCA President Brett Root. “We expanded eligibility to include these deserving drivers due to the restricted schedules at these facilities resulting from the pandemic.”  The Harris Auto Racing Race of Champions for Modifieds, Sunoco Race Fuels Race of Champi­ons for Stock Cars, Stephenville Starter Race of Champions for Hobby Stocks and BSB Manufactur­ing Race of Champions for Northern SportMods will be held Saturday, Sept. 12 at Boone Speedway.
