Newlin scores emotional Port Royal PASS victory

PORT ROYAL, Pa. (June 30) – Zach Newlin picked up his first-ever Pennsylvania Sprint Series win Saturday at Port Royal Speedway Saturday night. Along with being a huge win for the entire team it was a fulfillment of a promise as Newlin dedicated his biggest win to William Sweger, who passed away July 15, 2017, at the young age of 12 after a courageous battle with leukemia. Newlin later said he was “damn near crying” for the final three laps of the make-up event from May 5. Newlin had started on the pole and may have breathed a sigh of relief when perennial favorite Jeff Miller got caught up in a early tangle with Dave Grube. Smith scores PASS win at Port Royal

PORT ROYAL, Pa. (April 21) – Kyle Smith was the winner when the Pennsylvania Sprint Series returned to Port Royal Speedway Saturday for Beer Hill Cup race number two of the season. Dylan Shatzer ran the middle groove while others ran the high side and led the first four laps. Christian Rumsey took over up front before Smith used a lap seven restart to gain the lead. Jeff Miller Jr. garnered a second place finish while hard-charging Darren Miller ran out of laps and settled for third. Unseasonable temperatures had officials expecting a car count in the mid-20s but a warmer than anticipated weekend helped put 40 IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars in the pits for the Alan Kumpf benefit event. Smith makes last-lap pass for Keystone checkers

PORT ROYAL, Pa. (Oct. 7) – Kyle Smith traveled from Massachusetts to win Port Royal Speedway’s Keystone IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car Challenge Saturday night. The victory came as part of the Blue Collar Classic and Smith became the 18th different winner in 37 PASS events in 2017. Smith surged over the final five laps to reign in Tyler Reeser and swoop past for the $1,350 win in the final two turns of the 25-lap feature event. Feature results – 1. Kyle Smith; 2. Deschamp Shines in Stock Car Thriller at Nodak Speedway

(Apr. 27, 2025) — Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars took center stage at Nodak Speedway’s season opener, and the 3/8-mile “Playground of Power” delivered thrilling side-by-side action on a crisp Sunday evening. Chris Tuchscherer, the 2005 Williston Basin Stock Car champion and double-duty driver for the night, grabbed the early lead. However, two-time defending track champion Will Scheresky found a way around him by lap 4 and began pulling away before a caution slowed the field on the fifth circuit. On the restart, Gabe Deschamp — fresh off a win at Marshalltown’s Frostbuster earlier in the month — tracked down Scheresky and completed a bold move on the inside to take command on lap 6. (Apr. 26, 2025) — Myron DeYoung proved the high side was the fast lane at Crystal Motor Speedway, using a late-race move to claim his first Friesen Performance IMCA Modified win of the 2025 season — and extend one of IMCA’s most impressive streaks. With the victory, DeYoung has now won at least one IMCA Modified main event in each of the last 31 consecutive seasons, continuing a remarkable run that spans more than three decades.
