Steffens lands Lincoln County win

By Kelly Ninas NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (July 14) – Leading the laps that mattered most was Jay Steffens in Saturday’s IMCA Modified main event at Lincoln County Raceway. Steffens stayed within striking distance of leader Dave Pedersen, who paced the first 13 laps. Steffens drove around the outside of Pedersen to take the lead and the win. Fifth row starter Jeff Whiting was the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car winner and Tanner Clough prevailed in a tough battle for top IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock honors. Jamey Kennicutt led from the second lap to the checkers in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod headliner while Daryl Cauffman ruled the Mach-1 Sport Compacts.

This time in an IMCA Stock Car, Taylor wins another Wild West Challenge title

By Kelly Ninas NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (July 6) – New division, same title: Wild West Challenge champion. Jesse Taylor took the top check at Lincoln County Raceway’s Wild West Challenge Friday evening, earning $1,200 for his IMCA Sunoco Stock Car victory. Last year’s IMCA Modified winner at North Platte, Taylor started on the outside of the se­cond row and was among the cars jostling for position throughout the feature. He finally took the lead from Jason Rogers on the 16th lap and weathered a series of late cautions for the victory. Close behind was 10th starting Kyle Vanover. Rogers, Casey Woken and Justin Addison com­pleted the top five. Mike Densberger raced from sixth starting to win the IMCA Modified feature, earning $1,000 and a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot bid as well. Herrick hoists Lincoln County trophy 

By Kelly Ninas NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (June 9) – Veteran wheelman Bryan Herrick of Curtis piloted his IMCA Modified to the Saturday night feature win at Lincoln County Raceway. Herrick started on the outside of the front row, took the lead on the first lap and never looked back. Put­ting the pressure on Herrick for much of the feature was eventual runner-up Brandon Clough. Jamey Kennicutt was the winner of the Karl Chevrolet Northern Sport Modified feature as he held off all challengers during the waning laps after his big cushion was extinguished by late cautions. For the second week in a row, Casey Woken scored the victory in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature. Jacob Hagan rocketed to the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock victory and Daryl Cauffman powered his way to the Mach-1 Sport win.

Woken wins IMCA Stock Car feature at Lincoln County

By Kelly Ninas NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (June 2) – Saying that the competition was fierce would be an understate­ment when watching action at Lincoln County Raceway Saturday night. There were four lead changes in an IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature that saw Casey Woken drive from 10th starting to the top of the podium. Andrew Baumgardner also drove from the fifth row to score top Mach-1 Sport Compact honors. Taking advantage of a tacky track, Colton Osborn was the victor in the IMCA Modified feature. Osborn started in the second row and took the lead on the seventh lap as he never looked back on his way to the checkers. Jamey Kennicutt led every lap to earn the win in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod main and a see-saw battle in the waning laps of the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature went the way of Luke Wassom.

Osborn wires IMCA Modified foes at Lincoln County

(May 5) –Taking off like a rocket from the onset, Colton Osborn was a man on a mission as he led every lap of the IMCA Modified feature to record the Saturday victory at Lincoln County Raceway. Osborn worked through lap traffic with no issues at all. Coming to the podium from his fourth row starting position, Cole Hodges earned runner-up accolades. Taking advantage of an outside second row starting position, Zach Schultz rode the cushion into the lead on the fourth lap and never looked back in winning the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod main. By Kelly Ninas NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (April 28) – Perseverance was tested but it was worth the wait for the 2018 Lincoln County Raceway season opener in North Platte on Saturday evening. The heated action was highlighted with the pits being jam packed with competitors looking to start their sea­son off on the right foot in front of a large crowd. Earning IMCA feature wins were David Murray Jr., Danny Concelman, Mikey Dancer, Jeromy Wagner and Andrew Baumgarder. No stranger to the winner’s circle, Murray weathered a storm restarts to earn his career 550th IMCA Modified feature victory. Coming from the middle of the pack, Cale Osborn pressured Mur­ray on the final restart, only to be forced to settle for runner-up accolades.
