Martin revels in big Rebels payday at Lincoln County

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (May 4) – Jason Martin made his trip to Lincoln County Raceway a profitable one Saturday night.

Martin held off persistent challenges by defending tour champion Zach Blurton to claim the fourth annual Ron Williams/Dick Snoose Myers Memorial as the Lucas Oil POWRi United Rebel Sprint Series presented by Mel Hambelton Ford Racing made its only appearance of the season at North Platte. 

Martin and Darren Berry started on the front row for the 25-lap feature finale with Martin taking the lead as the green flag fell.

Blurton made several attempts to take the lead but couldn’t execute the pass. Brian Herbert passed Berry for third on lap four while the two frontrunners battled for the lead. 

A couple caution flags dotted the feature, yet Martin kept his sprinter out front and hold off remaining challenges from Blurton to take home the $1,500 victory with a $100 bonus for leading all 25 laps courtesy of RS Customs. 

Blurton settled for second while Herbert got the best of a race-long battle for third over Shon Pointer while Berry settled for fifth. Shane Sundquist picked up the Keizer Wheels hard charger award as he came from his 15th starting position to come home sixth.    

Next up for the United Rebel Sprint Series will on Saturday, May 18, and their second appearance of the season at Dodge City Raceway Park.

Osborn wires IMCA Modified foes at Lincoln County

(May 5) –Taking off like a rocket from the onset, Colton Osborn was a man on a mission as he led every lap of the IMCA Modified feature to record the Saturday victory at Lincoln County Raceway. Osborn worked through lap traffic with no issues at all. Coming to the podium from his fourth row starting position, Cole Hodges earned runner-up accolades. Taking advantage of an outside second row starting position, Zach Schultz rode the cushion into the lead on the fourth lap and never looked back in winning the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod main. Herrick hoists Lincoln County trophy 

By Kelly Ninas NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (June 9) – Veteran wheelman Bryan Herrick of Curtis piloted his IMCA Modified to the Saturday night feature win at Lincoln County Raceway. Herrick started on the outside of the front row, took the lead on the first lap and never looked back. Put­ting the pressure on Herrick for much of the feature was eventual runner-up Brandon Clough. Jamey Kennicutt was the winner of the Karl Chevrolet Northern Sport Modified feature as he held off all challengers during the waning laps after his big cushion was extinguished by late cautions. For the second week in a row, Casey Woken scored the victory in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature. Jacob Hagan rocketed to the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock victory and Daryl Cauffman powered his way to the Mach-1 Sport win.

Bellm begins building process at Lincoln County with five IMCA divisions

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (March 18, 2024) – Joe Bellm brings his 37 years of promotion expertise to a third track beginning this season, taking charge at Lincoln County Raceway. Five sanctioned divisions, the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods and Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts, run at the North Platte, Neb., venue, on eight dates complementary to those at Bellm-promoted El Paso County Raceway in Calhan and Phillips County Raceway in Holyoke, both in northeast Colorado. “We have had North Platte on our radar.
