Herrick hoists Lincoln County trophy

(Aug. 3) – Championship night played out in front of a packed house Saturday at Lincoln County Raceway.  Holding off all challenges, Cole Hodges captured the IMCA Modified feature after working his way into contention from a fifth row start position, taking the lead with just five laps remaining and then keeping David Murray Jr. at bay.  Jacob Olmstead led all but the opening circuit in winning another Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod main. Equally dominating, Casey Woken led all from the second lap on to earn the hard-fought IMCA Sunoco Stock Car victory with many heavy hitters trying unsuccessfully to catch up. Starting up front and staying up front, Zach Olmstead won the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature. Lonnie Lenser Jr. became the winner of the Mach-1 Sport Compact feature after the apparent top two finishers were disqualified in post-race tech.

(Aug. 29) – The racing action was fierce as all the chips were on the table for Champi­onship Night at Lincoln County Raceway.  Finishing their seasons by earning feature victories were Brandon Clough, Ty Rogers, Colton Osborn, Luke Wassom and Lonnie Lenser Jr.  Clough weathered a series of cautions in the late laps to hold on for the IMCA Modified victory. Colton Osborn ran out of real estate and had to settle for runner-up accolades.  Showing no rust from competing in North Platte, former regular Rogers, now of Yuma, Ariz., won his heat race and the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod feature. Second went to Paul Donovan. Leaving no doubt in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature was Osborn, who saw his first two passes to the front negated by cautions before taking over up front on lap four. (April 24) – Getting the season started off on the right foot, the competition was fierce for top honors during the 2021 Lincoln County Raceway season opener on Saturday night. Earning elite accolades for their efforts to be spotlighted in victory lane were Dillon Schultz, Troy Bayne, Mikey Dancer, Tanner Clough and Ted Trumbo. Starting on the inside of the second row, Schultz grabbed the lead early and never look back to earn the IMCA Modified victory. Stalking Schultz much of the event was Brandon Clough as he tried to catfish around the low side of the track as well test the waters on the cushion but it was too little, too late and Clough was forced to settle for runner-up honors.  Don Geist was third. Taking full advantage of the great starting position, Bayne was the winner of the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod feature.
