Season championship night at Arlington honors Schoknecht

ARLINGTON, Minn. – The Saturday, Sept. 23 season championship night program at Arlington Raceway will be in honor of Scott Schoknecht. Schoknecht, from Belle Plaine, was very instrumental in helping many drivers with his unselfish knowledge in setting up race cars. Friends have collected donations from almost 40 individuals and businesses to add to the purse for the IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. Both features will be $1,500 to win, $800 for second, $500 for third, $300 for fourth and $200 for fifth through 24th place. The Modified feature is a 2018 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier. After the race, four numbers will be drawn for finishing positions 5-24 and each of those spots will receive a total of $1,000. There will also be a $500 hard charger award in these two classes. Arlington checkers fly for Plamann

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 5) – Chris Plamann was the third and final leader in Saturday’s Premier Lo­gistics IMCA Hobby Stock feature at Arlington Raceway. Colton Burke and Luke Trebelhorn split time up front before Plamann capitalized on a restart, then held off Brad Becker the eight times around the track. A restart also helped open the door for Unhinged Pizza IMCA Northern SportMod winner Kevin Kirk, who prevailed in a green, white, checkered finish in front of Jeff Lloyd. Dean Cornelius led from lap three to the finish of the B & B Racing Chassis IMCA Stock Car fea­ture and traveler Adam Hensel prevailed in the MN 93 IMCA Modified headliner. Chris Graf started 10th and finished first in the 95.7 The Rock IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car main. Sixth starting Alex Dostal captured the Coors Light IMCA Sport Compact checkers.

IMCA Stock Car payday is $1,500 at Arlington Shootout special 

ARLINGTON, Minn. – IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars bat­tle it out for $1,500 to win at Arlington Raceway’s Wednesday, Aug. 2 Sibley County Stock Car Shootout. Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods run for $750 to win and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for a $400 top check that evening. MCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, re­gional, Allstar Performance State and local track points will be awarded at the draw/redraw show. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. Racing starts at 7 p.m. Grand­stand admission is $15 and pit passes are $30. Long trip to Arlington pays off for Sprint winner Smith 

ARLINGTON, Minn. (July 22) – Trevor Smith made the 2-1/2 hour trek to Arlington Raceway pay off, leading all 15 laps of Saturday’s 95.7 the Rock IMCA RaceSaver Sprint car feature for his ca­reer-first win in the division. It was a proud moment for his father Jim, who was track champion in 1988 at Arlington, where he motored his no. 33s sprint car around the ½-mile and picked up his own first feature win 29 years ago. Brian Loscheider picked up an extra bounty of $50 by ending Cory Probst’s streak of 10 Premier Logistics IMCA Hobby Stock wins in as many events. Dave Moriarty ran three-wide with Brad Lange and Matt Speckman before taking the B & B Rac­ing Chassis IMCA Stock Car win by a margin measured in inches. Jeff Lloyd topped the Unhinged Pizza IMCA Northern SportMod main. Tyler Limoges led every lap of the Minnesota 93 IMCA Modified feature while Ryan Bryant was the third and final Coors Light IMCA Sport Compact leader.
