Trebelhorn triumphs at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (June 10, 2023) – The wins are what you race for and Luke Trebelhorn raced to his IMCA Sunoco Stock Car first Saturday at Arlington Raceway. The second-year Stock Car driver started third, passed Mark Zimmerman on the seventh circuit and sailed to the checkers from that point, topping the 20-lapper in front of Dave Moriarty and Matthew Looft. “This is a tough class but that’s what makes it fun,” said Trebelhorn, who had a heat win and a couple top 10 finishes as a rookie last season. The car was sett up nice. Wins are what you strive for. Larson, Larsen are Saturday winners at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (June 3, 2023) – They’re the seventh- and 54th-most common surnames in Minnesota but Larson or Larsen, however you spell it, was the most popular name in victory lane Saturday night at Arlington Raceway. Eric Larson was the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod winner and Josh Larsen the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car winner. Eric Larson started outside second row and by turn two was leading the SportMod main. Broddy Enter, who had started right behind him was trying to catch him but on lap seven Joey Reimers spun and brought out a yellow flag and a restart. On the restart, both Matt Looft and Zac Davis got around Enter but Larson was holding strong to his front position. Another yellow flag came out when Zach Malchow spun. Serbus sprints to series win at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (May 27, 2023) – The Toppers and Trailers Plus Minnesota IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car Series kicked off and once again Trevor Serbus wheeled his car around the car to win Saturday at Arlington Raceway. Mike Stien tried to stick with the leader but wasn’t able to gain on him. Brandon Allen was running a strong third but Matt Johnson was able to get under him and take his spot, then Brett Allen and Brandon Allen were exchanging positions for the following laps with Brett coming out in fourth and Brandon in fifth. Brett Allen also won the RockStar Hard Charger of the Night award and an extra $100 from Schultz Custom Woodcrafters. Once again Cory Probst worked his magic and captured a clean sweep in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. 2022 track champions rule at 2023 Arlington opener

ARLINGTON, Minn. (May 20, 2023) – Last year’s track champions led the way to victory lane once again in almost all the feature events for the 43rd season opener at Arlington Raceway. There were 115 cars ready to compete in front of the stellar crowd.  Cory Probst started 11th and was in the first spot  by lap four in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature. A yellow flag was thrown for his dad in the 175C on lap two which enabled Cory to get ahead after the restart. He went onto lead the rest of the race with Chad Volk taking second and Tayte Harazin taking third ahead of brother Payton Harazin. Nate Coopman had command of the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts by the third time around the track  from his fifth place start. Alan Lahr started on the pole and managed to stick with Coopman and hold of Justin Dose, who took third. Minnesota IMCA Sprint Series returns with 10 race dates

ARLINGTON, Minn. (April 13, 2023) – After a three-year hiatus, the Minnesota IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Series will return this summer with 10 dates at seven different tracks in four states.  Main events each night pay $700 to win with $150 to start. Championship Night ends season at Arlington 

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Sept. 24, 2022) – Season championship races did not disappoint Saturday at Arlington Raceway as there was great racing action all night long.  The Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature saw 20 drivers start the race. Marschall Robinson was the early leader but soon had to hold off Nate Coopman and the two traded spots for the first four laps before Coopman went pit side with a flat tire. Robinson led the next two laps before Jason Bolte, who had started 12th, got around him. On lap 10, a yellow came out for Logan Kelly, who had moved into second and Alan Lahr, who was right with him along with Brock Braunworth.  The checkers were thrown with Bolte winning, Justin Dose second and Josh Backstrom third.  Chris Hansen won the mechanics’ race. A first lap yellow flag came out in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature when a flat tire sent Cory Probst to the pits for the rest of the night. Points battles waged at Arlington Raceway

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 20, 2022) – As the season is winding down, point battles are becoming factors in the racing action at the Arlington Raceway.  Once again, Cory Probst pulled off another win in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature. There were three different leaders as Cory Black led the first two laps before an early caution. On the restart, Taylor Manderfield took the lead but Probst had worked to the front from his eighth place start. The two raced side-by-side and each took turns leading with Probst passing the flags in first for the last four laps to win the race. Manderfield took second and Jed Trebelhorn took third. Nate Coopman took charge early in the Mach-1 Sport Compact main. The battle was behind him between Brett McConnell, Justin Dose, Gary Shumacher and Jerry Coopman. These four cars jockeyed positions back and forth for the duration with McConnell taking second and Dose third. Zevenbergen makes it look E-Z after late restart at Sibley County Shootout

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 3, 2022) – Opportunity knocked and Elijah Zevenbergen answered Wednesday night at Arlington Raceway.  The second-running Zevenbergen dove from the top of the track to the bottom following a late restart, taking the lead from Jim Horejsi and ultimately taking the $2,500 checkers in the Sibley County IMCA Sunoco Stock Car Shootout.  Already eligible to qualify for the B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational, Zevenbergen was the fifth different leader in the 25-lapper and crossed the stripe ahead of Horejsi and Curt Lund.  Michael Jaennette had drawn the pole and ran in front of Jeffrey Larson before spinning out of first. Larson’s turn at the front ended with turn two troubles that saw him exit for the pits. Lund inherited the lead, surrendering the point three laps later to Horejsi, who stayed in charge until the lap 22 restart.  Tim Pessek and Tim Johnson rounded out the top five. Arlington IMCA Modified checkers fly for Magers

ARLINGTON, Minn. (July 9, 2022) – Dalton Magers found victory lane for the first time this season at Arlington Raceway Saturday night. Magers took the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified lead on the sixth lap from Rick Schroeder and stayed in front for the duration in the flag-to-flag main event. Chad Porter took second while Trent Loverude was third.  Payton Harazin led the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock field until the third lap when he encountered troubles and ended up in the pits. That handed the lead to Cory Probst. Chad Volk tried diligently to gain on Probst but ran out of time and settled for second.  Marschall Robinson led the first lap of the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature but soon Brett McConnell was side-by-side and managed to get by him to take over the race. McConnell then had to contend with Nate Coopman as the two battled for several laps, again maneuvering around lapped traffic. Probst continues Hobby Stock streak at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (July 2, 2022) – Cory Probst continued his streak of victory lane speeches following Saturday’s IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature at Arlington Raceway.  Jed Trebelhorn was the early leader in the flag-to-flag race but by the sixth time around Probst was in command and went on to win but Trebelhorn taking second and Jordan Robinson following him to the line. The Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature saw Stephanie Coopman take the lead on the first lap from her second row start. Alan Lahr jumped to the lead following a lap four restart as Stephanie and husband Nate battled for second place. Finally after three laps, Nate got ahead and was working on Lahr but ran out of laps and settled for second ahead of Justin Dose. John Albrecht led early in the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod feature before bringing out the caution and going to the rear.
