ARLINGTON, Minn. (June 6, 2026) — A wild night of racing at Arlington Raceway produced plenty of thrills, spills and dramatic finishes, highlighted by Dan Mackenthun’s second straight Sunoco IMCA Stock Car victory at the Sibley County fairgrounds oval.

The feature saw its share of carnage early. Ryan Grochow and Garett Uecker led the field during the opening laps before contact exiting turn four sent Uecker sideways, collecting Matt Schauer and Matt Speckman in a crash that eliminated all three drivers.

On the restart, Grochow again showed the way, but Mackenthun quickly charged from his 12th starting position and worked his way to the front. The Hamburg driver and Trent Loverude traded positions repeatedly while slicing through lapped traffic.

Loverude nosed ahead as the white flag waved, but Mackenthun answered immediately entering turn one and regained the advantage for good. He held off Loverude for his fifth EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the season, second at Arlington and second straight at the track.

Loverude finished second, while Daniel Eckblad turned in one of the night’s best drives, rallying from 15th to third. Brent Uecker crossed the stripe fourth and Curt Lund completed the top five.

Jahnz Survives for Hobby Stock Win

The Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature was filled with incidents from the outset.

Travis Koester rolled over on lap two after breaking a trailing arm. Simultaneously, Carter Holmquist suffered rear-end issues and retired to the pits. The ensuing restart saw contact involving Ben Davis, Chad Volk and Scott Porter on the frontstretch, ending the nights of Davis and Porter. Two laps later, Taylor Manderfield spun and came to rest backward against an infield tractor tire before restarting at the rear.

Amid the chaos, Chad Volk and Austin Jahnz steadily worked to the front. Volk appeared poised for victory until Jahnz, who started 10th, found extra speed in the closing laps and edged ahead at the checkered flag.

The Lewisville driver earned his eighth victory of the season, fifth in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region, and second at Arlington in 2026.

Volk finished second ahead of Daniel Probst and Jordan Robinson. Mason Goettl charged from 13th to fifth, while Sarah Domoradzki advanced from 11th to sixth.

Hatlestad Charges to Modified Victory

Dan Menk set the pace early in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature, but Clint Hatlestad was on the move from his eighth starting spot.

A caution on lap five for Jason Schroeder allowed Hatlestad to close in, and shortly afterward he made the winning pass on Menk.

Menk stayed within striking distance while Hatlestad navigated lapped traffic, but the Glencoe driver maintained control and scored his third Razor Chassis North Central Region victory of the season, all coming at Arlington Raceway.

Matthew Looft finished second after starting sixth, Chad Porter was third, Menk settled for fourth, and J.J. Reimers rounded out the top five.

Larson Takes Control in SportMod Main

Bryan Spaude led the opening laps of the Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMod feature before Cole Hesse challenged for the top spot.

Eric Larson joined the battle and made a decisive move, passing both drivers in one lap to take command. Larson started seventh and went on to collect his third victory of the season and second at Arlington Raceway.

Hesse finished second while Joey Reimers crossed the line third. Ben Reierson was fourth, and Slade Fitzgerald advanced from 10th to complete the top five.

Allen Leads Every Lap in Sprint Car Feature

Andrew Allen dominated the RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car main event.

A first-lap caution flew when Brayden Allen spun and climbed atop an infield tire in turn two, but once racing resumed Andrew Allen was untouchable.

The Gaylord driver, who started fourth, led all 15 circuits to earn his second victory of the season, with both wins coming at Arlington.

Father Brett Allen finished second while Jeremy Schultz completed the podium. Matt Johnson and Bill Johnson rounded out the top five.

Coopman Wins Sport Compact Victory with Late Move

Justin Schelitzche led most of the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature, but Nate Coopman had other plans.

After a caution for Neil Forsberg, Coopman used the restart to challenge for the lead. The Mankato driver briefly took the top spot, surrendered it, then reclaimed it when it mattered most at the checkered flag.

Coopman scored his first victory of the season at Arlington Raceway.

Schelitzche finished second, followed by Gary Schumacher, Alan Lahr and Forsberg.
