ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 1, 2026) — Dan Mackenthun reached a milestone Saturday night at Arlington Raceway, charging from 11th to score his 200th career feature victory in the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car main event during the Sibley County Fair.
Three different drivers occupied the top spot in the 20-lap feature. A.J. Zimmerman led the early laps before a series of cautions forced him to the pit area. David Moriarty inherited the lead, but Mackenthun and Matt Looft quickly worked their way to the front and battled over the closing laps.
Mackenthun held off Looft to secure the historic victory.
The Hamburg driver earned his ninth EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the season and fourth at Arlington Raceway in 2026.
Looft crossed the stripe second, Moriarty finished third, Tim Pessek was fourth, and Brent Uecker completed the top five.
Allen Sweeps Sprint Cars for First Career Win
A first-lap red flag delayed the start of the RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car feature after Kinzlee Giessinger flipped in turn two. She was uninjured.
When racing resumed, Brayden Allen dominated the 15-lap feature from the pole and never looked back despite lapped traffic.
The 16-year-old Gaylord driver completed a clean sweep after winning his heat race earlier in the evening. The victory was Allen’s first career Sprint Car feature win.
Brett Allen finished second, Mike Stien was third, Bill Johnson came home fourth, and Matt Johnson completed the top five.
Reimers Breaks Through in SportMods
Joey Reimers earned his first career Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMod victory after taking the lead from the early battle between Jeff Lloyd and Scott Koep.
A pair of cautions slowed the race, but the Belle Plaine racer, Reimers, maintained command over the final laps despite pressure from Eric Larson.
Larson finished second, Ben Reierson rallied from an early flat tire to finish third, Alexander Barnes advanced from 13th to fourth to earn hard charger honors, and Chris Neisen rounded out the top five.
Looft Wins Modified Feature
Matt Looft inherited the lead of the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified finale when early race leader J.J. Reimers pulled to the pits with mechanical trouble after leading the opening laps.
Looft then held off Dan Menk in a side-by-side battle over the closing circuits.
The Swea City, Iowa, driver earned his fifth Razor Chassis North Central Region victory of the season and fourth at Arlington Raceway in the division.
Menk finished second, Clint Hatlestad charged from eighth to third to earn hard charger honors, Jason Schroeder was fourth, and Chad Porter completed the top five.
Probst Charges to Hobby Stock Victory
Three drivers took turns at the front of the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature.
Mason Goettl led the opening laps before mechanical trouble sidelined him, allowing Taylor Manderfield to assume command. Cory Probst, however, stormed forward from 10th starting position and made the winning pass on lap nine before driving away.
The Brewster driver earned his ninth B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region victory of the season and sixth at Arlington Raceway in 2026.
Manderfield finished second, Austin Jahnz was third, Chad Volk fourth, and Travis Koester completed the top five. Probst earned hard charger honors after advancing eight positions.
Coopman Reaches 300th Feature Victory
The Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature came down to the final corner as Nate Coopman and Justin Scheletzke raced side-by-side throughout the 10-lap contest.
Scheletzke appeared headed for victory until Coopman surged ahead exiting turn four on the final lap to steal the win at the checkered flag.
The Mankato driver earned his fourth victory of the season, all at Arlington Raceway. The triumph also marked the 300th feature victory of his career.
Scheletzke settled for second after starting eighth, Gary Schumacher finished third, Alan Lahr was fourth, and Dale Gatton completed the top five.
