ARLINGTON, Minn. (May 9, 2026) — The air was chilly, but the racing was hot at Arlington Raceway, and there were three different leaders in the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature. Ryan Grochow led the first two laps before Ken Tietz, who started in the second row, got around him to take over the race. By lap seven, Matthew Looft had the lead in his No. 6-7 machine after starting ninth.
Behind him, there was a battle royale between Dave Moriarty, Dan Mackenthun, Curt Lund, and Trent Loverude. In the end, the Swea City, Iowa driver earned his first feature win of the season in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region. Moriarty took second, while Mackenthun made a last-lap pass to gain third ahead of Lund. Loverude advanced from 11th to finish fifth.
The Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods saw Ben Reierson lead the opening five laps before Brody Enter charged from sixth to take over the top spot.
Soon Eric Larson joined the battle as the three drivers raced side-by-side for several laps. By the 10th lap, Enter gained some breathing room as lapped traffic became a factor.
The Vesta driver went on to score his first win of the season. Larson was able to get around Reierson to claim second with Reierson taking third. Joey Reimers finished fourth ahead of Blake Luinenburg.
There were two different leaders in the IMCA Hobby Stock feature. Mason Goettl led the first seven laps from his pole position start.
A yellow flag came out on the opening lap as several cars tangled, sending Brad Becker and Ben Davis to the rear of the field. By the fifth lap, Cory Probst had moved up five spots to challenge Goettl, and on lap eight the Brewster driver took over the lead.
Probst went on to win his first feature of the season in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region after starting sixth. Goettl had his best finish of the year in second, while Austin Jahnz took third. Brad Jones finished fourth and Evan Schettler charged from 13th to fifth.
There was also a clean sweep in the RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Cars as Brett Allen won both his heat race and the feature.
Andrew Allen started up front and was wheeling his car around the track in great form until he hit the inside berm in turn two on lap five, causing the car to jump the track. A yellow flag waved, and he restarted at the rear of the field.
That gave Brett Allen the lead, and the Gaylord driver never looked back as Bill Johnson tried to close the gap while also holding off son Matt Johnson behind him. Brett Allen won his first feature of the season with Bill Johnson taking second and Matt Johnson third. Owen Graf finished fourth ahead of Jeremy Schultz.
David Marshall won his first feature event of the season in the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature.
The Buffalo Lake driver prevailed after the top four cars raced wheel-to-wheel for several laps before Gary Schumacher suffered a flat tire to bring out a caution flag. On the restart, Alan Lahr took over the lead, but two laps later Marshall regained the position.
Lahr tried unsuccessfully to reclaim the top spot as Marshall crossed the line first. Lahr settled for second and Dale Gatton took third. Kevin Madson finished fourth ahead of Mason Berger.
The Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature was led by three different drivers.
Jason Schroeder took the opening lap lead from his pole position start before Matt Looft worked past Austin Hamre and Trent Loverude on lap two to take over the race.
Looft led the next eight laps until Brandon Beckendorf powered around him after starting eighth. Lapped traffic became a factor as the Danube driver pulled away to score his fourth win of the season, third in the Razor Chassis North Central Region, and second victory of the year at Arlington Raceway.
Looft held on for second, while Clint Hatlestad advanced four spots to finish third. Loverude took fourth and Chad Porter completed the top five.
