Arlington Stock Car checkers fly for Lund

ARLINGTON, Minn. (June 25, 2022) – Saturday’s IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature at Arlington Raceway saw a new car in victory lane but not without a battle first. Andrea McCain led the first seven laps before getting too high following a restart and seeing Curt Lund take over the top spot. Tim Malchow started ninth and worked his way to second but couldn’t get around Lund as the cars behind him were all vying for the top spot, too, with three- and four-wide racing.  In the end Lund won the race, Malchow took second and Chad Schroeder took third. Cory Probst again pulled off the feature win in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature, which was tainted with a late race crashes on laps nine and 10. Chad Volk took second over Moriah Trebelhorn and Todd Sievert. There were three different leaders in the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature. David Marshall led the first two laps, then Alan Lahr took over the top spot until lap nine when Nate Coopman got around him. R.J. Esqueda [Read More]

200th win is latest IMCA Hobby Stock accomplishment for Probst at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (June 18, 2022) – After thinking back to the time when he could hardly win a single race, Cory Probst talked about what it took for him to win 200 of them.  Probst earned the 200th feature win of his IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock Car career on Saturday at Arlington Raceway. The checkers were his eighth in 15 starts this season and already his sixth of 2022 at the big Sibley County Fairgrounds speedplant. “It was pretty special. I was surprised when I got my 100th win, let alone my 200th,” said the Brewster, Minn., driver, who celebrated with his family afterwards with dinner at Applebee’s. “I can remember when I started racing and it was hard to get one win.”  “I’ve learned that experience and a good car maintenance program are keys to getting wins,” he continued. “I think racing two or three times a week and racing at different tracks makes you a better driver than racing once a week at the same track. The more you race, there’s always something new you [Read More]
