ARLINGTON, Minn. (May 30, 2026) — Dan Mackenthun used a late restart to his advantage and charged from the 11th starting position to win the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature at Arlington Raceway.
Ryan Bjerkeset led the majority of the race while drivers behind him battled two and three wide throughout the field. Dave Moriarty spent much of the event trying to track down the leader while Mackenthun steadily worked his way through traffic.
A late caution changed everything when Garrett Uecker made contact with the retaining wall in turn three, ending his night and setting up a crucial restart. Mackenthun capitalized on the opportunity, taking over the lead and driving away for his fourth EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the season. The Hamburg veteran has now won at three different tracks in 2026 and scored his first Arlington Raceway triumph of the year.
Matthew Looft advanced from ninth to finish second while Bjerkeset settled for third. Trent Loverude charged from 15th to fourth and Matt Speckman completed the top five.
Porter Holds Off Hatlestad in Modified Thriller
Jason Schroeder led the opening 18 laps of the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature before Chad Porter found a way around him in the closing stages.
As the leaders raced toward the checkered flag, Clint Hatlestad also slipped past Schroeder and began reeling in Porter. Despite the late pressure, Porter held on to secure his first Razor Chassis North Central Region victory of the season.
The Madison Lake driver crossed the stripe ahead of Hatlestad, who charged from seventh to second. Matthew Looft finished third, Schroeder settled for fourth, and Todd Stinehart rounded out the top five.
Johnson Wins Sprint Car Feature on Final Lap
Mike Stein led more than half of the RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car feature while Bill and Matt Johnson battled for position behind him.
Matt Johnson eventually worked his way past his father before setting his sights on Stein. Using the low groove, Johnson made the winning move on the final lap to score the victory.
The St. Peter driver earned his second win of the season, with both triumphs coming at Arlington Raceway.
Stein finished second ahead of Bill Johnson. Javen Ostermann and Andrew Allen completed the top five.
Reierson Continues Arlington Success
Ben Reierson once again found victory lane in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMod division.
The Arlington driver worked his way forward from eighth and held off challenges from Eric Larson and Tim Bergerson, who traded positions throughout the race while trying to chase down the leader.
Reierson earned his second victory of the season, with both wins coming at Arlington Raceway.
Larson finished second ahead of Bergerson. Cole Hesse and Matthew Schoenke completed the top five.
Jahnz Prevails in Hobby Stock Battle
Austin Jahnz and Chad Volk raced side by side for several laps in the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature before Jahnz gained the advantage.
A caution slowed the race when Brad Jones came to a stop outside turns three and four, ending his night. On the restart, Jahnz maintained control and drove away to victory.
The Lewisville driver earned his sixth win of the season, including his third in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region. It was also his first Arlington Raceway victory of 2026.
Taylor Manderfield finished second while Volk crossed the stripe third. Brad Becker and Jordan Robinson completed the top five. Jonathan Schroeder advanced from 13th to sixth.
Gatton Scores First Sport Compact Win of Season
The Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature was interrupted by a red flag when Gary Schumacher rolled over between turns three and four before being struck by Alan Lahr. Both drivers were uninjured, although Schumacher’s car sustained heavy damage.
Following the restart, Dale Gatton led the remainder of the event to secure his first victory of the season.
The Fairmont driver finished ahead of Justin Schelitzche, who advanced from seventh to second. Lahr recovered to finish third while Nicole Kelzer and Kevin Madson completed the top five.
