Beckendorf records Rucks Memorial win

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Sept. 14, 2024) – Brandon Beckendorf was the third and final leader in the Jeff Rucks Memorial event for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds at Arlington Raceway Saturday night. Trent Loverude started on the pole and Clint Hatlestad who started in the second row, moved right to the front with him by the eighth lap, Hatlestad was the leader but only for two laps as Loverude retook the position. A yellow came out for a spinning car and on the restart, Hatlestad was in second behind Loverude once again but the 10th starting Beckendorf was also in the mix. Three laps later, Beckendorf put the pressure on and as they were coming in for the white flag, it was Beckendorf leading the pack. He held on for the $1,000, Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying win with Loverude taking second, Hatlestad in third and Dalton Magers fourth. Saturday wins are first of season for three at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 24, 2024) – A fast track provided great racing action Saturday night at Arlington Raceway. There were three different leaders in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature. Shaun Bruns led the first 13 laps with Josh Larsen on his tail. Bruns and Tim Pessek then dueled multiple laps with Bruns falling back, Pessek taking over the lead and Dave Moriarty moving up a couple spots to challenge. A yellow flag came out for a spinning car on the 17th lap. On the restart, Moriarty took the lead and remained in front to win his first feature of the year. Pessek took second but was docked two spots in post-race tech. That gave second place to Matt Looft and third to Dan Eckblad. Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts saw a new car in victory lane with Zach Vande Kieft having a solid lead over Justin Dose in his drive to the checkers. Alan Lahr held on for third place. RaceSaver checkers fly at Arlington for Graf

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 10, 2024) – New cars in victory lane and a rain-free evening provided a great night of racing for the Back to School Kids’ Night at Arlington Raceway. Hunter Hanson had some bad luck in the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature as he had a commanding lead before his motor expired on lap four and he drove to the infield, ending up in a water hole off the front straightaway. Hannah Graf then took the lead on the restart with Brett Allen and Matt Johnson behind her racing side-by-side and trading second and third. Allen got to second and had his sights on Graf but it was Graf taking the checkered first with Allen following and Johnson in third. There were three different leaders in the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod feature and close racing throughout the entire 15 laps. Reierson in right direction with first IMCA Northern SportMod win

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 3, 2024) – Ben Reierson led every lap but the last one last week. He got the job done Saturday night at Arlington Raceway, beating Matt Looft to the finish line by all of 18 thousandths of a second for his career first Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod feature win. “I definitely replayed that in my mind a bunch. We were supposed to have that Stock Car special (rained out and rescheduled to this Wednesday) so I was trying to erase that from my memory and start fresh,” said Reierson, 22 and in his fourth full season in the class. “Then it came to Saturday, I was able to start second row and I got the lead on the second lap. ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 2, 2024) – The winner of Arlington Raceway’s Aug. 7 Sibley County Fair Stock Car Shootout will go home with bragging rights, $5,000 and a guaranteed starting spot in the B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational. Postponed from July 31 due to inclement weather, the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car special pays lap money as well, with random draws of $125-$500 courtesy of Justice Brothers, Evers Enterprises, B & B Racing Chassis, Arlington NAPA/Sunoco Fuel, Ken’s Repair & Towing, Dakota Robinson Trucking and QRS. Lahr aces Arlington Sport Compact feature

ARLINGTON, Minn. (July 27, 2024) – There was plenty of action on the track for Minnesota Farmfest Night Saturday at Arlington Raceway After an early stoppage, there was a three-way battle for the lead in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature. Taylor Manderfield led until Chad Volk took over the race. He was holding off Cory Probst and Blake Luinenburg, who had started side-by-side in the fifth row. Volk felt the pressure and on lap seven Probst got around him to take over the lead. Luinenburg followed on the next lap. A yellow came out when Manderfield hit an infield tire in turn two, putting him to the back. When the race restarted Probst held onto the lead and took the win ahead of Luinenburg and Volk. Near flawless night, great track make for quick race program at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (July 20, 2024) – A quick race program played out due to an almost flawless night and great track conditions Saturday at Arlington Raceway. The only mishap all night occurred in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature when a collision happened in turn one between the cars of Jeremy Ziemke and Taylor Manderfield, ending both their race nights. Ziemke had been the early leader and after a restart, Cory Probst got by him to take over the lead and win again. Brad Becker moved up with Probst to take second ahead of Chad Volk. The Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature saw Dale Gatton take the lead on lap two and remain in front in the green to checkered flag race. Gary Schumacher took second ahead of Alan Lahr The IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature saw two different leaders with Bill Johnson leading the first five laps before mechanical issues forced him to and stop on the track. Dan Grams Memorial checkers fly for Serbus

ARLINGTON, Minn. (July 13, 2024) – Extra money was on the line before and in the Rice Companies-sponsored IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature on Dan Grams Memorial Night Saturday at Arlington Raceway. Andrew Allen and Chris Graf each won heat races and earned $100 from GRP Motorsports. Then Allen won the foot race on the front stretch with the top 10 drivers to determine who would draw first, picking up $50 from Johnson Motorsports and a 55-gallon barrel of methanol from Rick and Jessica Linde and Joel and Katie Eckberg. In the feature, Brandon Allen was the early leader as he led the first seven laps until Trevor Serbus came up in turn four, saw an opening on the top and then made an awesome move, sliding under Allen to take the lead. They stayed in that 1-2 order through back-to-back cautions, when Brett Allen took the high groove and got around Brandon Allen to gain the second spot. Racing, fireworks beat rain at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (July 6, 2024) – Track staff worked quickly to beat the incoming rain just west of Arlington Raceway to ensure the IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing program was complete and the NAPA fireworks show done. They accomplished those tasks in record time as the rains came just as the last colors hit the sky. Drivers did an excellent job in all divisions as there was some great racing action throughout the night. The IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature saw 24 cars start the feature and it was a dandy as Dakota Robinson and Brent Uecker raced side-by-side throughout, with each leading at the line and then trading positions. As the white flag was going to be displayed, a yellow came out for a stalled car next to the front wall. When the cars realigned it was Uecker and Robinson battling again. Third time is a (rainless) charm at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (June 29, 2024) – After a two week hiatus in events due to rain, Arlington Raceway managed to get an event in even though an inch and a half of rain fell the night before. Drivers were eager to get back to the track and compete and Bode Collision & Glass and K&R Towing put up an extra $100 to each feature winner so every feature was pretty intense. The IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks saw two different leaders. Jonathan Schroeder was the early leader but a yellow was thrown for Mac Tollefson on lap seven when he lost a tire and landed in the infield pond area. The following lap after the restart, Schroeder had troubles which sent him to the work area and later the pit, ending his night. That gave both Brett McConnell and Cory Probst an opportunity to gain positions on the restart.
