Toland scores IMCA Late Model win at Davenport

By Mike McGuire DAVENPORT, Iowa (June 16) – Defending national and track champion Rob Toland dominated the Petersen Plumbing & Heating IMCA Late Model feature Friday at Davenport Speedway. Toland took the lead from his son Bobby on lap four of the 25-lapper and built a sizable lead before the caution flag flew with three laps remaining. Chuck Hanna got a great restart and chased Toland to the checkered flag. Matt Ryan recovered from the caution to finish third. Mike Cothron and Andy Nezworski completed the top five. Brad Montgomery scored a long-awaited win in the Eriksen Chevrolet IMCA Modified main. Montgomery started on the outside pole and led all 20 laps for the win. Kay doubles up at Farley

By Jerry Mackey FARLEY, Iowa (June 16) – Justin Kay was a double winner Friday at Farley Speedway. The Out-Pace Racing Products IMCA Late Models took the green with Nick Marolf blasting into the lead from his front row start. Marolf looked to be on cruise control as he rode the top side of extremely fast track but engine woes sidelined the leader as the race hit the midway point. Joel Callahan assumed the point only to have a spin as he worked lapped traffic force him to the rear. Justin then took over the point and went on to record the win. Tyler Bruening and Dan Shelliam completed the top three. The GSI Collision Specialists IMCA Modifieds provided another exciting feature. Matt Gansen took the race lead early, only to have the sixth starting Kay chase him down and make the winning pass on lap number 12 of the non-stop 20-lap main event. Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods on June 24 card at River Cities Speedway

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – River Cities Speedway hosts the first-ever appearance by Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods at Grand Forks on Saturday, June 24, during the Greater Grand Forks Fair. The feature pays $300 to win. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and Allstar Performance State points will be awarded. Gates open at 4:45 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:15 p.m. with racing at 7 p.m. Fair admission of $5 is good for entry into the grandstand. Pit passes are $30. The division returns to River Cities on Friday, Sept. 15 as part of the season-ending show. Admission will be $16 through Ticket Outlet or $19 at the front gate.

Lincoln County Raceway hosts Schultz Memorial on June 20

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. – Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods race for $2,000 to win while IMCA Modifieds chase a top check of $1,000 at Lincoln County Raceway’s Tuesday, June 20 Marcie Schultz Memorial special. The Modified feature is a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars race for $1,000 to win, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $500 to win. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional, Allstar Performance State and local track points will be awarded. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. Hot laps are at 5:30 p.m. and racing starts at 6:30 p.m. Grandstand admission is $15 for adults, $5 for kids ages 6-12 and free for five and under. IMCA Northern SportMod Nationals at Britt boasts $2,500 top check

BRITT, Iowa – The winner of Hancock County Speedway’s Tuesday, June 20 Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod Nationals goes home with a hefty $2,500 top prize. A minimum of $300 will be paid to start the main event and IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and Allstar Performance State, but not track points will be awarded. The top two finishers from each heat advance to the $200 to win DeKalb/Asgrow Dash to determine their starting spots in the main event. Also running are IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for national, regional and state points. The Modified feature pays $750 to win, with $600 to win for the Stock Cars and $500 to win for the Hobby Stocks. Super Nationals pre-registration begins

BOONE, Iowa – Pre-registration for the biggest event in all of dirt track racing is underway. Entry forms for the 35th annual IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s, to be held Sept. 4-9 at Boone Speedway, are now posted on both the IMCA (www.imca.com) and track (www.raceboone.com) websites. Pit stall applications are also posted on both sites. Drivers must have 2017 competitor’s licenses and have completed the pre-registration process before they can reserve pit spots. Entry fees, if paid before Aug. 25, are $40 for Modifieds, $50 for Late Models, $25 for Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks, Northern SportMods and Southern SportMods, and $15 for Sport Compacts. Admission price rollback announced by Farley Speedway Promotions

By Jerry Mackey FARLEY, Iowa (June 15) – Officials of Farley Speedway Promotions, owner-operators of Farley Speedway and contract holders and operators of West Liberty Raceway and Dubuque Speedway, announced today that several changes are being made at the popular Eastern Iowa speedways. First and foremost, the admission prices for all weekly racing events at all three tracks have been dropped to $10 for adults, $9 for seniors and students ages 13-17 will be admitted for $5. Kids under 12 accompanied by an adult will continue to be admitted free. In addition, the Farley Speedway back chute spectator area will reopen this Friday, June 16 and will continue to be open for all racing events for the remainder of the season. Anderson captures career 300th IMCA Hobby Stock win

By Jeremy Fox OSKALOOSA, Iowa (June 14) – Shannon Anderson raced to his career 300th IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature win Wednesday, on Kraig Ford Night at Southern Iowa Speedway. The KBOE Radio/Mahaska Bottling 14-lap feature brought the show to a close. Jared Stephens and Ryan Wells led the field to the green and it was Stephens taking the early race lead Mike Kincaid started sixth and Anderson started ninth. Both worked their way through the field, Kincaid took the lead on lap six before Anderson got the front spot for good the next time around. Anderson went on to take his sixth win at Osky, his 18th win of the season and 300th IMCA Hobby Stock feature win.
