DES MOINES, Iowa (June 14) – Another win, another milestone. And Shannon Anderson will tell you this one was the most difficult to achieve. Anderson won for the 300th time in his IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock career Wednesday at Southern Iowa Speedway. That’s the most for any driver in division history and the fourth-highest single division total in IMCA’s modern era. “To win Super Nationals or national championships or 100, 200 or 300 features are all really hard. They’re all big accomplishments,” said Anderson. “Three hundred feature wins has been the hardest. I would never have guess I’d get that many. Skalicky leads every lap of every Northern SportMod Nationals race

By Chad Meyer BRITT, Iowa (June 20) – Jesse Skalicky and his crew had been looking for a special or two that didn’t interfere with their regular Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod weekly racing. After leading every lap of every race he was in at Hancock County Speedway’s Northern SportMod Nationals, Skalicky was looking for a place to put his $2,700 in winnings and a very tall trophy for the six-hour tow home to Fargo, N.D. Skalicky had never raced at Britt before Tuesday night but don’t be surprised to see him return soon. He led every lap of his heat race, drew the pole and repeated that flag-to-flag run in the $200 to win dash, then led every circuit in the $2,500 to win main event. “I have never had a night like this. Shelliam sails to Dubuque Speedway victory

By Jerry Mackey DUBUQUE, Iowa (June 18) – Dan Shelliam took his Rocket chassis to the top side of the smooth track and set sail from his second row start and went on to record a comfortable Out-Pace Racing Late Model feature win over Luke Merfeld and Jeremiah Hurst at Dubuque Speedway. The Merfeld Brothers IMCA Modified feature was a real crowd pleaser as Jed Frieburger turned around a so-so season with a very impressive win in the 20 lap feature event. Freiburger held off Jeff Larson by less than a car length at the finish line. Mark Schulte crossed under the checkers in third. The GSI IMCA Northern SportMods saw first-time winner Jerry Miles capture the 15-lapper. Miles has shown great improvement early in the season and has established himself as a frontrunner in the very tough SportMod class. Friday will be a beach at Lee County

DONNELLSON, Iowa – This Friday night, June 23 is “Beach Night” at Lee County Speedway in Donnellson. Anyone fan wearing only a swimming suit gets into the grandstand for half price. You are welcome to bring towels, extra clothes or sandals, and whatever you would bring to the beach. We are going to attempt to make a giant water slide in victory lane. All ages will be allowed to participate as long as a waiver is signed. Kids must have parents present to sign. All drivers and significant others also bring your swimming suit as we will have a contest who goes the farthest. This will be a night of fun and laughs. Cheesehead Triple Crown paydays add up to $20,000 for IMCA Modified winners

FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. – IMCA Modified drivers chase winner’s checks totaling $20,000 over the course of the upcoming Cheesehead Triple Crown. 141 Speedway’s June 21 and 22 Clash at the Creek boasts a $10,000 top check. Both the June 23 Battle at the Zone at Oshkosh SpeedZone Raceway and Shawano Speedway’s June 24 Fury at the Fairgrounds are $5,000 to win events. All three features are Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifiers and Ken Schrader will vie with the IMCA regulars both nights at 141. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Side Biter Chassis North Central Region and EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region, and Allstar Performance State points will be awarded throughout the richest week of IMCA racing in Wisconsin. Pray prevails at Greased Pig for first IMCA Modified victory

AUBURN, Mich. (June 16) – IMCA Modified career win 1.0 at Tri-City Motor Speedway’s Greased Pig 7.0 special put Chaz Pray on the ballot for Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational 14.0. “I’ve always had it in my mind that when we won, it would be from further back,” Pray said after taking the $1,077 checkers Friday at Tri-City Motor Speedway, his home track. “Tri-City is usually very racy and you don’t know where the line is going to be. It was rewarding to run where we wanted to and be able to keep out momentum up.” “It’s a big bonus to be on the Fast Shafts ballot,” the first-time IMCA Modified feature winner added. McRoberts outduels Dodge City foes

By Lonnie Wheatley DODGE CITY, Kan. (June 16) – Randle McRoberts was first to the checkers in Friday’s IMCA Modified main event at Dodge City Raceway Park. McRoberts slipped by Travis Simmons on the 12th circuit and paced the field the rest of the way. Simmons and McRoberts had started alongside each other on the front row of the main event with Simmons getting the upper hand in the early going. McRoberts chased Simmons for 11 laps before finally pouncing on the lead. Joel Lane followed McRoberts’ lead around Simmons and held second until the final round when Cole Traugott worked his way into the runner-up position after starting 12th. Lane claimed the show position with the father-son duo of Troy and Brendon Gemmill rounding out the top five. Troy Gemmill’s charge to fourth came from the 20th starting position.

Jergens wins Kossuth County special

By Greg Grabianowski ALGONA, Iowa (June 15) – Mike Jergens was the big winner in the IMCA Modified special sponsored by the Algona Feed Store, as the Plover driver took first in the feature and pocketed the $2,000 first place money Thursday at Kossuth County Speedway. Clay Money was the leader after the first lap but Jergens wrestled the lead away after an early restart and never gave it up the rest of the way. Kelly Shryock and Tad Reutzel kept the heat on throughout the race with Shryock placing second and Reutzel third. Money was fourth and Rob Hughes rounded out the top five. Hughes went from 14th starting to fifth as the feature’s hard charger. Derek Green was the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car winner and Shannon Anderson scored top IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock honors. Jake McBirnie led the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods to the checkers and Jacob Tacheny topped the Mach-1 Sport Compact main.
