Championship Night is Saturday at Park Jefferson

JEFFERSON, S.D. – Championship Night has arrived at Park Jefferson Speedway, as this Satur­day, Aug. 19 the track will crown its six IMCA champions.

In addition, drivers in the IMCA RaveSaver Sprint Car division will compete for their Road to the Iron Cup event with a draw/redraw format paying $500 to win along with $25 drawings for posi­tions 2-5 and 6-24.

Point battles have been very close all season in all divisions but no more so than in the J & J Fit­ting IMCA Stock Car class, which has seen a myriad of competitors hold the top spot with Greg Taylor leading by just two points.

The SignMasters IMCA Mods see Bob Moore 15 points over Ricky Stephan, Todd Boulware 10 points over Rusty Montagne, and David Bates eight points over Luk Jackson.

Craig Clift clings to a five point advantage over David Miller and six over Aaron Shearn in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks while Colin Smith has assured himself the first-ever IMCA RAC­ESaver Sprint title at Park Jefferson with a 73-point lead.

Gates open Saturday at 5 p.m. with hot laps set for 6:30 p.m. Adult tickets are $12 seniors 70 and over are $5, children ages 6-16 are $2 and under six are free.
