Callahan wins Back To School Night cash

DUBUQUE, Iowa (Aug. 13) – Sunday was Back To School Night at Dubuque Speedway with school supplies, back packs, carnival games and a special autograph session plus a huge nickel scramble during intermission for the kids.

The Out-Pace Racing Products IMCA Late Model 25-lap feature went caution-free with a two-man battle between Joel Callahan and Dan Shelliam. The two traded slide jobs back and forth throughout the main event. At the checkers it was Callahan getting to the checkers first ahead of Shelliam. Tyler Bruening took third.

The Merfeld Brothers Automotive IMCA Modifieds saw Austin Moyer win his fourth feature of the season at Dubuque. A usual high-side racer, Moyer used the low line to the win. Moyer held off Jason Schueller and Ryan DeShaw.

Nic Coates scored his second win of the weekend at Dubuque. Coates scored his first win of 2017 Friday at Farley and backed up that impressive win with another win on Sunday at his hometown track in the GSI Collision Specialists IMCA Northern SportMods. Coates took the checkers ahead of Tyler Soppe and Tim Current.
