WHITE CITY, Ore. (Aug. 12) – Taking the lead from Preston Jones on a lap 10 restart, Zach Fettinger won the 25 lap IMCA Modified main event Saturday at Southern Oregon Speedway.

This was Fettinger’s first win at the track and he also became the sixth different winner in as many races this season.

Fettinger had to contend with some serious pressure from seven-time champion Mark Wauge and Jesse Bailey down the stretch but kept his cool for the impressive victory.

After taking the lead on the third lap, Rich McCoy went on to win the 20-lap Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature.

It was the second straight win for McCoy and his fourth straight top three finish as he tries to gain on point leader Mike Medel following his opening day hot laps crash. Willie McFall continues to be the biggest threat to Medel following his career-best second place feature finish.

Next up for both divisions will be the special two-day R. Charles Snyder Salute on Sept. 2-3.
