Sanders IMCA Modified Challenge Tour set for Aug. 17-20

ADA, Minn. – IMCA Modifieds race for $1,000 to win each night of the Aug. 17-20 Sanders Modified Challenge Tour, along with shares of a $7,000 point fund.

Features Thursday, Aug. 17 At Norman County Raceway in Ada, Minn., Friday, Aug. 18 at Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, N.D., Saturday, Aug. 19 at Jamestown, N.D., Speedway and Sunday, Aug. 20 at Buffalo River Race Park in Glyndon, Minn., all are qualifying events for the 2018 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot and pay a minimum of $100 to start.

Tour point standings are based on the best three of four finishes and drivers must compete at least three nights to be eligible.

The top driver in points earns $1,500, with $1,000 for second, $800 for third, $600 for fourth and $500 for fifth. Point funds will be distributed to top 20 eligible drivers.

There’s a $250 clean sweep award for drivers who can win both their heat and feature on the same night. Non-qualifier pay is $50.

Entry fee and pit passes are $30 each night.

Norman County and Red River Valley both open pit gates at 2 p.m. and the grandstand at 5:30 p.m. Hot laps are at 6 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m.

Thursday admission is $12 for adults, $8 for students, $5 for kids and free for five and under. On Friday, adult grandstand admission is $13, kids ages 6-12 is $5 and five and under are free.

IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Side Biter Chassis North Central Region and Allstar State points will be given to Modifieds; IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods also vie for track points.

At Jamestown, the pit gates open at 3:30 p.m., the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m. Spectator admission is $15 for adults, $7 for students and free for five and under.

Modifieds earn national, regional, state and track points.

And at Buffalo River, gates open at 3 p.m., the grandstand opens at 4:30 p.m. and racing is at 6 p.m.

Spectator admission is $13 for adults and $5 for kids ages 6-12, with five and under free.

Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks chase national, regional, state and track points; Northern SportMods vie for national, state and track points.

All four events will be broadcast by IMCATV.
