Madrid gets first IMCA Stock Car win in New Year’s special

SAN TAN VALLEY, Ariz. (Jan. 1) – The 10th annual New Year’s Day special at Arizona Speedway ranked a solid 10 with Zachary Madrid. Madrid earned $1,000 for his career-first IMCA Sunoco Stock Car victory in the 2021 opener. The Friday win was also his 40-lap first in any division. “The car is wicked fast and I couldn’t have asked for a better setup,” said Madrid, who had debuted the Mike Shea-owned 2020 IROC ride last November at the Duel In The Desert. “We’ll take a $1,000 win any time we can get it.” The 2019 IMCA Modified track champion at San Tan Valley, Madrid on the front row and inside father Anthony. Pettit aces IMCA Modified feature in Antioch opener

ANTIOCH, Calif. (Jan. 2) – Jim Pettit II came up big in the first IMCA Modified feature of the season Saturday at Antioch Speedway. Pettit started on the pole and led all 30 laps for the win, holding off a series of challengers for the $1,000, Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying victory on a perfectly prepared fast, multi-groove oval. Up to the task following each of three restarts, Pettit led the 17th starting Nick DeCarlo, Troy Foulger, Kellen Chadwick and Bobby Hogge IV to the checkers. Todd Gomez and Cody Johnson also raced their way to Antioch’s victory lane on Saturday, in the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod and IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main events, respectively. IMCA Stock Cars chase $1,000 top check at Arizona Speedway’s New Year’s Day special

SAN TAN VALLEY, Ariz. – IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars start the 2021 season with a $1,000 to win main event at Arizona Speedway’s 10th annual New Year’s Day special. Forty laps will be the distance for the Jan. 1 feature and IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and KMJ Performance Arizona State points will be awarded. Transponders are required. Pit gates open at 10:30 a.m. and spectator gates open at 11:30 a.m. Racing starts at 1 p.m. Admission is $20 for adults and kids 11 and under are free. IMCA Stock Cars are next great thing at Wisconsin’s Tomahawk Speedway

TOMAHAWK, Wis. (Dec. 22) – The next great thing at Tomahawk Speedway will be IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. The sanctioned division officially joins the Saturday night race program at the north central Wisconsin speedplant in 2021, with opening night set for May 22. ANTIOCH, Calif. – The track Where Action Is The Attraction opens for 2021 with three IMCA divisions on the Saturday, Jan. 2 card. Antioch Speedway hosts IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods in its first show of the new season, with IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and KMJ Performance California State points to be awarded. Pit gates open at noon and hot laps are at 3 p.m. with racing to follow. Pit passes are $50 and face masks must be worn any time drivers or crew members are outside their pit area. Five IMCA divisions making big news at Wagner Speedway in 2021
