Lamberies roars to Shawano feature win

(May 4) – Lucas Lamberies may be a rookie in the IMCA Modified division, but the three-time Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod champion certainly knows his way around the Historic Half-mile. Lamberies showed that the change in division was no obstacle in winning races as he outdueled his good friend Wyatt Block with a last-lap pass for the feature win Saturday at Shawano Speedway. Block battled Brekken Kleinschmidt side-by-side for the first two laps with Kleinschmidt leading lap one while Block led lap two by a bumper. Lap three saw Block begin to put some distance between himself and the field. With Block leading, the action behind him was hot between Kleinschmidt, Konnor Wilinski, Lamberies, and Marcus Yarie. Lamberies, Kleinschmidt, and Wilinski exchanged second through fourth numerous times throughout the race as Block looked to be in control. IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car drivers chase awards from Precise Racing Products

BENNINGTON, Neb. – Precise Racing Products rewards the accomplishments of IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car drivers with a pair of $500 cash bonuses and more than $1,500 worth of gift cards again this season. Olson scores first Marshalltown win

By Joyce Eisele MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (May 3) – Kyle Olson made his first visit to Marshalltown Speedway’s victory lane on Cliff Chambers Memorial Friday night. The Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods ran 18 laps and in the end it was Olson weathering the yellow flags to take home the win. Olson started sixth but had command of the race by the time lap three was scored. From there on he remained as captain of the ship, capturing his first win ever at the speedway. Brayton Carter had a good showing as he finished as the runner-up after starting back in 16th. The IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock main event went flag to flag with David Rieks leading all but that opening lap on his way to victory. Martin revels in big Rebels payday at Lincoln County

Martin held off persistent challenges by defending tour champion Zach Blurton to claim the fourth annual Ron Williams/Dick Snoose Myers Memorial as the Lucas Oil POWRi United Rebel Sprint Series presented by Mel Hambelton Ford Racing made its only appearance of the season at North Platte. Martin and Darren Berry started on the front row for the 25-lap feature finale with Martin taking the lead as the green flag fell. Blurton made several attempts to take the lead but couldn’t execute the pass. Brian Herbert passed Berry for third on lap four while the two frontrunners battled for the lead. Pfeifer prevails at Dodge City Stock Car Shootout

(May 4) – Saturday night’s Stock Car Shootout presented by Winner’s Circle Feedyards and Factory Direct Fireworks atop the 3/8-mile Dodge City Raceway Park clay oval lived up to its moniker with Kyle Pfeifer battling past Jason Rogers in the closing rounds of the 25-lapper to pocket the $1,000 winner’s share for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. Pfeifer had his work cut out for him the in the 25-lap Shootout, gridding the feature field 12th as Tyler Walker and Mark Zorn led the way to the green flag. Walker gunned into the early lead and paced the initial eight circuits before surrendering the point to eighth-starter Rogers. Rogers was busy fending off Angel Munoz over the ensuing circuits while Pfeifer made his into the top five by the midway point. KSE adds Stock Cars, SportMods to IMCA awards program

WHITE HOUSE, Tenn. – KSE Racing Products expands its IMCA program of awards this season with the addition of Stock Car and SportMod prizes. The White House, Tenn., manufacturer gives 700 Series steering boxes to IMCA Sunoco Stock Car, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod and Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMod rookies of the year, and $100 product certificates at designated special events for those divisions. Schafroth wins again at Stuart

By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (May 2) – Buck Schafroth was back in victory lane following Thursday’s IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature at Stuart Speedway. Schafroth took the lead from Jeremy Gettler on lap four; second-running Todd VanEaton exited with mechanical issues on the 11th circuit, with Mike Nichols moving up to challenge. The race went green from there and Schafroth had his hands full as Nichols worked high and low trying to find a way around. After taking the white flag, Nichols seemed to set up a move down the backstretch and into turn three, but his car went up on two wheels in turn three and his shot at the win was over. Schafroth took the exciting victory with 17th starting Shawn Ritter sneaking by Nichols for second. Shannon Anderson topped an IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature that ran caution-free and Tyler Inman followed the lower line to the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod checkers.

May 3 show washed out at US 36

OSBORN, Mo. – Due to saturated grounds and more forecasted wet weather, US 36 Raceway officials have made the decision to cancel racing for Friday, May 3. The Sprint Series of Nebraska will take to the high banks, along with IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars on Friday, May 10. Pit gates open at 5 p.m., the grandstands open at 6 p.m., hot laps are at 7:30 p.m. and racing starts at 8 p.m.

Mother Nature wins at Lee County Speedway

By Brian Neal DONNELLSON, Iowa – For the first time in 2019, Mother Nature has taken the checkered flag at the Pepsi Lee County Speedway in Donnellson. Heavy rains all week long has given the track crew no chance of getting on the race track to get it ready for Friday, May 3. Therefore, Brian and Marcie Gaylord have been forced to cancel the action, which was suppose to be presented by Buford Dozing and Excavating. Friday night’s action was scheduled to kick off the 2019 point season for the I-Smile Silver IMCA Late Models. But now that will have to wait until next Friday, May 10, as Darkside Tint & Graphix, Driftwood 13, and Buford Dozing and Excavating help to bring the action. Also on the card for Friday, May 10th will be the Budweiser IMCA Modifieds, Donnellson Tire & Service IMCA Stock Cars, Roberts Tire Center IMCA Northern SportMods and Discount Tire & Service IMCA Sport Compacts, all racing for track points. Racing starts at 7:30 p.m.
