Fairmont date will be Minnesota first for IMCA Arnold Motor Supply Dirt Knights

FAIRMONT, Minn. – Regardless of who stands in victory lane, history will be made Wednes­day night at Fairmont Raceway.

The Arnold Motor Supply Dirt Knights Tour makes its first-ever visit to Minne­sota on Aug. 7, with IMCA Modifieds running for $1,500 to win and a spot on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot during the Bob Shryock Memorial program.

All but three of the previous 91 events in the tour’s 10-year history have been held in Iowa, with two in South Dakota and a single foray to Wisconsin.

Pit gates open at 3 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. tomorrow at Fairmont. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. with racing to follow.

Grandstand admission is $15 for adults, $12 for students ages 13-17 and kids 12 and under are free when accompanying a paid adult. Pit passes are $30 

IMCA.TV broadcasts Wednesday’s Dirt Knights program.

Final tour dates of 2019 are Sept. 21 at 34 Raceway and Sept. 28 at Benton County Speedway.

Braaksma is first at Fairmont for third IMCA Speed Shift TV Dirt Knights win

FAIRMONT, Minn. (Aug. 5) – Ethan Braaksma’s first visit to Fairmont Raceway ended with his third Speed Shift TV Dirt Knights Tour for IMCA Modifieds feature win of the summer.  Braaksma started outside the front row and led all 25 laps Wednesday on the fast half-mile oval, earning $1,000 for his efforts.  “I had a good car tonight and hit some good, consistent laps,” he said. “We haven’t changed much on the car this year and kind of went with what we’ve been doing. I don’t have a lot of experience on half miles and thought we did a good job making adjustments from our heat to the feature.” After an early caution, the Bob Shryock Memorial headliner ran green another 17 straight laps. Race For Trace is Tuesday at Fairmont

FAIRMONT, Minn. – IMCA drivers Race For Trace next Tuesday, Aug. 18 at Fairmont Raceway. The midweek show boasts a $25,000-plus purse but more importantly raises funds to help pay medical costs for car owner and sponsor Trace Iverson.  Three dollars from each admission ticket sold will be donated and the 15 drivers Iverson helps sponsor will pass their helmets in the grandstand and pit area. Items to be auctioned include donated door panels while the raffle includes a wheel autographed by Richard Petty. Tuesday’s IMCA Modified feature pays $2,020 to win and is a 2021 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying event, while IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars run for $2,000 to win.
