$3,000 is top prize for IMCA Modifieds at 85 Speedway opener 

ENNIS, Texas (March 17) – Winning the opening night Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified feature at 85 Speedway will pay a hefty $3,000. The Saturday, March 19 show is the first under the direction of new promoter Scotty Brown and all applicable points, including local track points, will be awarded. The Modified main event is a 2016 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier. The runner-up earns $1,500 with $750 paid for third. A minimum of $100 will be paid to start the feature. Also on the card at Ennis are Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMods, plus factory stocks, cruisers and lady cruisers. There is no entry fee but registration fee is $30. Pit passes are also $30. Grandstand admission is $12 for adults, $7 for seniors and military, $5 for kids ages 6-11 and free for five and under. IMCA Hawkeye Dirt Tour finalized at a dozen events

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – The Hawkeye Dirt Tour now numbers 12 events, with the addition of Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified shows at Marshalltown Speedway, Dubuque Speed­way and the Clay County Fairgrounds at Spencer. The HDT joins the Deery Brothers Summer Series for Late Models for the first time at Mar­shalltown on Tuesday, June 7. Modifieds race for $1,000 to win and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods are also the card that evening. Simmons Promotions to host March 26 race car show

FARLEY, Iowa ­­– Simmons Promotions has set Saturday, March 26 as the day to kick off the 2016 race season with its very popular pre-season race car show. The Palace Ballroom, located on the Farley Speedway grounds on the west edge of Farley, will be the site. Fans are invited to enjoy the warm comfort inside the Palace which offers plenty of space for the drivers to display their new race cars ready for competition. SILVER BAY, Minn. (March 9) – The second year of IMCA.TV, the Official Network of IMCA Racing, kicks it up a notch with an impressive schedule of 50-plus races from all over the United States and Canada with a number available included in monthly and yearly subscriptions. POCOLA, Okla. – Top prize for the Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds is $2,000 at Tri-State Speedway’s 37th annual Cecil Harlan Memorial Kegger this Friday and Saturday, March 18 and 19. Six states were represented by Modifieds entered at last year’s Kegger and an even bigger field is expected for the 2016 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying event, which pays a minimum of $200 to start. SportMods race for $1,000 to win and $100 to start while first place in the Stock Car feature pays $800, with $80 to start. Total purse for the event is more than $29,000. Record car count will top 300 for Spring Nationals

BEATRICE, Neb. (March 11) ­– Pit parking will be at a premium as 300-plus drivers from 16 states and Canada take their turn on the track Friday, opening night of Spring Nationals at Beatrice Speedway. Both the Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod entry numbers were at or near 90. More than 40 IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and a similar number of IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks were expected and promoter Toby Kruse said 34 Mach-1 Sport Compacts took practice laps on Thursday. Southern United Sprints run for $2,000 to win Saturday night 

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – There’s a $2,000 top check waiting for the winner of the South Texas Nationals when the Southern United Sprint Series heads to Corpus Christi on Saturday, March 12. The South Texas Speedway show pays a minimum of $350 to start. Tri-City announces Student Recognition Program

AUBURN, Mich. (Feb. 29) ­– Tri-City Motor Speedway is partnering with area schools to celebrate their students’ accomplishments by rewarding them with an exciting night at the races. Schools located within a 50-mile radius of Auburn, Mich., with an active Student of the Week/Month or similar recognition program are eligible. Sprint Series of Oklahoma opens at Red River Roundup

By Darin Short WICHITA FALLS, Texas ­–­ This Friday and Saturday, March 4 and 5, Red River Speedway near Wichita Falls will kick off the 2016 racing season with two days of open wheel racing at the Red River Roundup. The Red River Roundup will feature IMCA EMI RaceSaver Sprint Cars sanctioned through the newly-formed Sprint Series of Oklahoma. The main event pays $700 to win and a minimum of $250 to start on Friday and $1,000 to win and a minimum of $250 to start on Saturday. Non-qualifier pay each night is $100.
