$2,000 is top Modified prize at Tri-State Kegger special

POCOLA, Okla. – Top prize for the Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds is $2,000 at Tri-State Speedway’s 37th annual Cecil Harlan Memorial Kegger this Friday and Saturday, March 18 and 19. Six states were represented by Modifieds entered at last year’s Kegger and an even bigger field is expected for the 2016 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying event, which pays a minimum of $200 to start. SportMods race for $1,000 to win and $100 to start while first place in the Stock Car feature pays $800, with $80 to start. Total purse for the event is more than $29,000. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing national points and Allstar State points will be awarded in all divisions, with Jet Racing Central Region points for Modifieds and EQ Cylinder Heads Southern Region points for Stock Cars given as well. Record car count will top 300 for Spring Nationals

BEATRICE, Neb. (March 11) ­– Pit parking will be at a premium as 300-plus drivers from 16 states and Canada take their turn on the track Friday, opening night of Spring Nationals at Beatrice Speedway. Both the Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod entry numbers were at or near 90. More than 40 IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and a similar number of IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks were expected and promoter Toby Kruse said 34 Mach-1 Sport Compacts took practice laps on Thursday. Southern United Sprints run for $2,000 to win Saturday night 

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – There’s a $2,000 top check waiting for the winner of the South Texas Nationals when the Southern United Sprint Series heads to Corpus Christi on Saturday, March 12. The South Texas Speedway show pays a minimum of $350 to start. Tri-City announces Student Recognition Program

AUBURN, Mich. (Feb. 29) ­– Tri-City Motor Speedway is partnering with area schools to celebrate their students’ accomplishments by rewarding them with an exciting night at the races. Schools located within a 50-mile radius of Auburn, Mich., with an active Student of the Week/Month or similar recognition program are eligible. Sprint Series of Oklahoma opens at Red River Roundup

By Darin Short WICHITA FALLS, Texas ­–­ This Friday and Saturday, March 4 and 5, Red River Speedway near Wichita Falls will kick off the 2016 racing season with two days of open wheel racing at the Red River Roundup. The Red River Roundup will feature IMCA EMI RaceSaver Sprint Cars sanctioned through the newly-formed Sprint Series of Oklahoma. The main event pays $700 to win and a minimum of $250 to start on Friday and $1,000 to win and a minimum of $250 to start on Saturday. Non-qualifier pay each night is $100. Dubuque fair date added to IMCA Hawkeye Dirt Tour schedule

DUBUQUE, Iowa – A 10th date has been added to the Hawkeye Dirt Tour, on Tuesday, July 26, opening night of the Dubuque County Fair. Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds will race for a minimum of $1,000 to win and a minimum of $150 to start when they make their first tour visit to Dubuque Speedway for the midweek show. In addition to special series points, IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, North Central Region and Allstar Performance State points will be awarded. Modifieds race March 3, 4 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The half-mile Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway hosts a pair of $750 to win events for Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds on Thursday and Friday, March 3-4. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Larry Shaw Racing Western Region and Allstar Performance State points will be awarded both nights. Features pay a minimum of $75 to start with $50 paid to non-qualifiers. There is a $20 entry fee each night. RACEceivers and transponders are required. PEORIA, Ariz. ­– Canyon Speedway Park’s Desert Clas­sic moves to an early-point season date in 2016, with a top prize of $5,000 for Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modi­fieds on the line at the Friday and Saturday, Feb. 26-27 special. The Desert Classic feature pays a minimum of $300 to start and is a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot quali­fying event. The entry fee of $100 will be payable at the gate. Details finalized for $10,001 to win Legendary event

MANDAN, N.D. ­– Details have been finalized for the largest paying IMCA-sanctioned Modified event in North Dakota racing history, Dacotah Speedway’s inaugural Legendary 50. The Friday, July 15 Legendary follows the Kupper Chevrolet Dakota Classic Modified Tour and will pay $10,001 to the winner of the 50-lap feature, a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying event.
