March 3 opening night for Sprint Series of Oklahoma 

By David Smith Jr. OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – An ambitious schedule awaits the Sprint Series of Oklahoma IMCA RaceSaver Series presented by Smiley’s Racing Products/Hoosier Racing Tires Southwest as officials released their 2018 slate on Saturday. The first of four events at Red Dirt Raceway in Meeker is slated for Saturday, March 3. Other events scheduled at the 1/4-mile, red clay oval are Friday, April 27; Friday, June 29 as part of the second annual Freedom 40; and the Sprint Car series season finale on Saturday, Sept. 22 at the third annual Pat Suchy Classic. The doubleheader weekend at Southern Oklahoma Speedway is March 9-10. Other Friday events at the Ardmore speedplant are April 20, May 18, June 15, July 20, Aug. 17 and Sept. 14. IMCA Modifieds headline Canyon’s Nov. 3, 4 Desert Dash 

PEORIA, Ariz. – IMCA Modifieds race for $1,500 to win and berths on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot both nights of Canyon Speedway Park’s Friday and Saturday, Nov. 3 and 4 Desert Dash. Both features pay a minimum of $125 to start. Also running each night are Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods for $1,000 to win and $100 to start; IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars for $500 to win and $65 to start; and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $250 to win and $50 to start. Pill draw fee is $50 for Modifieds, $40 for Northern SportMods, $30 for Stock Cars and $20 for Hobby Stocks. Throwback theme to best appearing car contest at LVMS’ Duel In The Desert 

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Ready to show off at Las Vegas Motor Speedway? Enter your IMCA Modified or Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod in the throwback-themed Duel In The Desert IMCATV Best Appearing Car Contest hosted by the School of Racing Graphics. Prizes for drivers and designers alike are among the new twists for the 2017 contest. Both divisions will be combined for judging. US 36 plans Oct. 21 special for IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars

OSBORN, Mo. – IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars debut at a Show Me State track built with Sprint Cars in mind later this month. The Saturday, Oct. 21 main event at US 36 Raceway in Osborn pays $700 to win and a minimum of $250 to start. Promoter Jon Boller Jr. said interest from local drivers will be complemented by competitors from the Kansas Ciy area and as far away as Minnesota. “I’ve been hearing a lot about IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars. Abilene Speedway set for 23rd annual Southern Challenge 

ABILENE, Texas – The 23rd annual Ryan Bard Memo­rial Southern Challenge sees four IMCA divisions in action Friday and Saturday, Oct. 13-14. IMCA Modifieds race for $2,000 to win their main event, a qualifier for the 2018 Fast Shafts All-Star Invita­tional ballot. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMods both run for $1,700 to win. IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks run for $650. An open practice runs from 6-10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12. All four divisions can time trial as part of that even­ing’s Fast Lap Challenge, with the top two cars in each class receiving an optional provisional if they don’t qual­ify. HAYS, Kan. – RPM Speedway wraps up 2017 with one of the richest post-season events on the IMCA sched­ule, the Fall Nationals fueled by Casey’s. IMCA Modi­fieds race for $5,000 to win and a mini­mum of $400 to start their main event at the 11th an­nual event, scheduled Oct. 5-7 at Hays. STUART, Iowa – A $2,000 top prize and 2018 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berth are at stake this Saturday at Stuart Speedway’s Ron Little Memorial. Also on the Sept. 23 card are IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, all racing for $500 to win.
