Neisen aces Arlington IMCA SportMod feature

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Sept. 26) – A Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod feature that ran green to checkers ended with Chris Neisen in victory lane Saturday night at Arlington Raceway.  Neisen caught Dave Siercks for the lead on lap seven and stayed in front to the finish. Matt Looft started 11th and chased neisen across the stripe. Ninth stating Clint Hatlestad was the IMCA Modified feature winner, Justin Allen paced the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car main and Matt Speckman raced up another IMCA Sunoco Stock Car vic­tory. Cory Probst was the third and final leader in an IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature that saw just a single caution, on the opening lap. Jaedan Erickson topped the Mach-1 Sport Compact feature.

IMCA Modified checkers fly at Arlington for Stinehart

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Sept. 19) – Todd Stinehart was the fourth and final leader in Saturday’s IMCA Modified feature at Arlington Raceway. Rick Nelson paced the first four laps before he was forced pitside. Trent Loverude took over the top spot and built a commanding lead while Stinehart and Clint Hatlestad were fighting for second. On lap 13, Loverude’s engine let loose and he exited the track giving the lead to Stinehart. Hat­lestad fought hard and took the lead on the 18th lap, then ran side-by-side with Stinehart the last two laps.  As they were coming out of turn four, Hatlestad was a nose ahead, but Stinehart edged past him right before the checkered flag. Last-lap pass puts Esqueda in victory lane at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 29) – Last-lap drama played out in the Saturday night feature Mach-1 Sport Compacts at Arlington Raceway. Matthew Spiess had taken the early lead and stayed in front until after the white flag was dis­played. R.J. Esqueda started 10th and worked his way up to second places with his sights on Spiess.  Esqueda made the late pass for the checkers. Justin Dose followed Esqueda and ended in se­cond.  Winner of the green-to-checkered IMCA Modified feature was Dan Menk while Justin Allen aced the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car headliner and Matt Speckman paced the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature.  Cory Probst raced from 11th starting to win the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature and Kris Zuhlsdorf made the most of back-to-back cautions early on to win the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod main event.

Johnson, Schroeder win green to checkered features at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 22) – Both the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature and the Karl Kus­toms Northern SportMod feature ran green to checkered Saturday at Arlington Raceway. Bill Johnson reeled in leader Jeremy Schultz en route to the Sprint checkers while Jason Schroeder raced from the third row at the start in winning his first Northern SportMod main of 2020.  The IMCA Modified feature saw three different leaders with Chad Porter and Clint Hatlestad run­ning up front before Brandon Beckendorf made his move on the white flag lap, edging past Hat­lestad to take the lead and the win. Brett McConnell took the lead on the second circuit and stay in front to the finish of the Mach-1 Sport Compact main event. Jeff Larson had the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car no one could catch while Cory Probst made his move to the front of the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock field the last time around the track.

Late-race opportunity leads Zuhlsdorf to winner’s circle

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 15) – Opportunity knocked on the door late in the race Saturday night and Kris Zuhlsdorf answered. Mike Kennedy led the first 12 laps of the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod feature at Arlington Raceway but saw his advantage up front erased by a caution.  Zuhlsdorf capitalized, taking the lead following the ensuing restart and driving to the win. Dan Menk led from start to finish of the 20-lap feature for IMCA Modifieds and Michael Stien was the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car winner. Tenth starting Dan Mackenthun topped the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main event.  National point leader Cory Probst paced the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks while Alan Lahr led the way to the Mach-1 Sport Compact checkers.

Bassett is best in Arlington SportMod main

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 1) – After making his move on the 10th time around the track, Eric Bas­sett made his first trip this season to victory lane at Arlington Raceway. Bassett caught Tim Bergerson for the lead in the Saturday night main event for Karl Kustoms North­ern SportMods and led to the checkers. Vince Corbin completed a late drive to second. Dalton Magers led the IMCA Modified feature from start to finish. Clint Hatlestad was able to get around Josh Ruby following a restart but could not catch Magers and settled for second. After working his way steadily to the front of the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car field, Bill Johnson had the lead when lap nine was scored and set sail the rest of the way. Dan Mackenthun caught pole starter Jeff McCollum and won the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature. Rookie rules IMCA Sport Compact feature at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (July 11) – Mach-1 Sport Compact rookie Brett McConnell was among the drivers making first appearances of the season in victory lane during Dan Grams Memorial Night Saturday at Arlington Raceway. McConnell led flag to flag. R.J. Esquedo worked through the field while racing side-by-side with Eric Stocker but had to settle for second. Neil Stevens was scored first every time around the track in the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car fea­ture. Chad Schroeder was the third and final different IMCA Sunoco Stock Car leader and Eric Larson sailed to the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod checkers after gaining the lead on lap two. Clint Hatlestad and Cory Probst were repeat IMCA Modified and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock win­ners, respectively.

Career 100th IMCA Modified win for Hatlestad

ARLINGTON, Minn. (July 4) – Clint Hatlestad had a fantastic night as he was able to pick up his 100th IMCA Modified career win Saturday at Arlington Raceway.  Hatlestad started eighth but had command of the race following an early restart. Another yellow on lap seven gave Toby Patchen an opportunity to challenge but Hatlestad wasn’t to be denied as he pulled away from the field.  Patchen took the inside line for the final restart on lap 14 but couldn’t get around and watched as Hatlestad sailed to the checkers. Patchen took second with Josh Ruby starting 11th and finishing third. Dan Mackenthun was the third and final leader in the IMCA Sunoco Sock Car feature after inch­ing ahead of Matt Speckman on the last lap. Trevor Serbus was also third to the front in winning the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car main. A single caution slowed the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod main. Hard charger Olson holds of Arlington Hobby Stock challengers

ARLINGTON, Minn. (June 27) – Passing seven cars and taking the quick lead wasn’t even the most challenging part of Matt Olson’s run to the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car checkers Saturday at Arlington Raceway. Once in front, Olson had to hold off Jed Trebelhorn and then five-time and defending track cham­pion Cory Probst to stay there.  Probst ended in second while Luke Trebelhorn got around his brother Jed to take third. Tenth starting Zach Davis caught Matt Looft in the final turn for the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod victory and Bill Johnson led the last five circuits in a caution-free IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car contest.  Brandon Beckendorf also started 10th, and won the IMCA Modified main event. Dan Mackenthun led start to finish in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main and Nate Coopman took the Mach-1 Sport Compact checkers.

Convincingly, Carter captures SportMod win at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (June 20) – Jeff Carter was on a tear from the start of Saturday’s opening night Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod feature at Arlington Raceway. Carter got a great start from the second row and was in the lead by the first turn. Despite numer­ous stoppages, he held onto the top spot throughout to win his first feature of the year. Eric Lar­son tried to catch him but had to contend with the fast-moving Kris Zuhlsdorf and settled for se­cond. Clint Hatlestad raced to IMCA Modified career win number 99 and Brandon Allen led the distance in the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature.  Brent Uecker was the third and final leader in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main.
