Loverude races to Rucks Memorial checkers

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Sept. 18) – Trent Loverude had a $1,000 payday for his win in the IMCA Modified Jeff Rucks Memorial Night Saturday at Arlington Raceway.

Dan Menk jumped to the lead at the drop of the first green flag but soon was contending with Clint Hatlestad. For eight laps, the two raced almost side by side with Hatlestad just ahead. Then a caution came out, Menk was able to get around Hatlestad on the restart and led for the next five laps. 

Loverude was moving through the field and also got around Hatlestad. With only a few laps left, lapped traffic became a factor and Menk took the wrong line as Loverude took over the race and went on to win and earn Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility as well with Menk taking second and Matt Gilbertson finishing ahead of Hatlestad at the line. 

Shaun Bruns won the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car nail biter ahead of Dan Mackenthun. Bill Johnson collected the checkers in the final Minnesota IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car Series event of the season. Trevor Serbus is the series champion.

Matt Looft topped the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods, Cory Probst was the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock winner and R.J. Esqueda led the way to the Mach-1 Sport Compact finish.

Stien scores RaceSaver Sprint win at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (May 26) – Mike Stien won his first feature of the year in the 95.7 the Rock IMCA RaceSaver Sprint feature Saturday at Arlington Raceway. Stien led from start to finish with Bill Johnson taking second and Justin Allen third. Brandon Beckendorf won for the third time in as many MN 93 IMCA Modified starts at Arlington this season, taking the latest checkers after starting ninth. Matt Looft also started deep in the field and motored to a third straight Unhinged Pizza IMCA Northern SportMod victory. Dan Mackenthun prevailed in a battle with Matt Schauer for top B&B Racing Chassis IMCA Stock Car honors. A lap six restart gave Cory Probst the opportunity he was looking for as he drove to the lead and eventual Eckblad Trucking IMCA Hobby Stock checkers. Alan Lahr of Nicollet won his first feature of the year in the Coors Light IMCA Sport Compacts.

IMCA Modified checkers fly at Arlington for Stinehart

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Sept. 19) – Todd Stinehart was the fourth and final leader in Saturday’s IMCA Modified feature at Arlington Raceway. Rick Nelson paced the first four laps before he was forced pitside. Trent Loverude took over the top spot and built a commanding lead while Stinehart and Clint Hatlestad were fighting for second. On lap 13, Loverude’s engine let loose and he exited the track giving the lead to Stinehart. Hat­lestad fought hard and took the lead on the 18th lap, then ran side-by-side with Stinehart the last two laps.  As they were coming out of turn four, Hatlestad was a nose ahead, but Stinehart edged past him right before the checkered flag. Third went to Toby Patchen.  Bill Johnson led from the sixth circuit to the finish of the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature and Chad Schroeder topped the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main. Scott Porter celebrates birthday weekend with Arlington checkers

ARLINGTON, Minn. (June 22) – Celebrating his birthday weekend, Scott Porter won the Coors Light IMCA Sport Compact feature Saturday at Arlington Raceway. Porter took the lead from Tim Senne on the second lap and remained in front for the duration of the contest. First-time winner in the Unhinged Pizza IMCA Northern SportMods was Chris Plammann, who led the entire distance in a caution-free race. The Porter team had a great night as Chad Porter took the lead from Josh Larson on the eighth lap and led to the finish of the IMCA Modified main event. Matt Schauer pulled off his third B&B Racing Chassis IMCA Stock Car win a row by getting around A.J. Zimmerman. Michael Stien led flag to flag in the Alpha Media IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature. Cory Probst picked up his fifth Eckblad Trucking IMCA Hobby Stock win of 2019 at Arlington.
