
Five IMCA divisions run at Abilene’s Southern Challenge
ABILENE, Texas – Five sanctioned divisions are on a very full race program for the Thursday-Saturday, Oct. 17-19 Ryan Bard Memorial Southern Challenge at Abilene Speedway. Total purse for the 19th annual event is approximately $75,000. IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds chase a $3,000 top check, with a minimum of $450 paid to start the 2014 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier. Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMods race for $2,500 to win and a minimum of $250 to start. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars vie for $2,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to take the main event green. IMCA Race Saver Sprint Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks both race for $1,000 to win. Sprints run their entire program on Saturday with a minimum of $175 to start.
