Heffner Wins With Late Pass at Big Diamond

By Frank Buhrman MINERSVILLE, Pa. (Aug. 1, 2025) — Kenny Heffner was in the right place at the right time, and it earned the Watsontown veteran his second River Valley Builders PA Sprint Series win of 2025 in Friday night’s 20-lap feature at Big Diamond Speedway. Heffner had spent most of the race trailing Mike Alleman, who was looking for his first PASS win in decades after ending a long winless streak earlier this year in a Laurel Highlands Sprint Series event. Alleman built a sizeable lead, but Heffner began steadily cutting into the margin over the final six laps. Then, just a quarter-lap before taking the white flag, Alleman drifted high in turn four, opening the door for Heffner to sneak by on the inside. Moments later, Jeff Weaver spun in the same corner, triggering a caution and setting up a one-lap shootout for the win. Heffner held his ground on the restart and crossed the finish line with a one-second advantage. The victory made him the fourth two-time PASS winner of the season. Alleman’s [Read More]

Wahoo Ends Shryock’s Streak in Stock Cars at Kossuth County

By Greg Grabianowski ALGONA, Iowa (July 31, 2025) — Kossuth County Speedway hosted a thrilling Thursday night program for the Harken/Hovinga Memorial Race. In the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature, Loren Pesicka Jr. took the early lead before giving way to Mike “Wahoo” Albertsen just two laps in. Behind him, a heated battle for second brewed between McCain Jennings, Kelly Shryock, David Wickman, Calvin Lange and Pesicka. Shryock eventually won that battle and slowly began reeling in Albertsen by the halfway point of the 20-lap main. With four laps remaining, Shryock was right on Albertsen’s rear bumper when a caution flew for a Zayn Feaster spin. Shryock threw everything he had at Albertsen on the restart, but the Audubon driver held his ground to score his second win of the season at Algona. The victory also snapped Shryock’s personal six-race win streak at the track. Albertsen now owns 10 overall wins in 2025, including eight in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region. Shryock was second and Jennings crossed the line third. Krug Collects Second Win of [Read More]

By Jerry Mackey MAQUOKETA, Iowa (Aug. 2, 2025) — The Sunoco IMCA Late Models at Maquoketa Speedway saw front row starter Doug Nigh and 10th-starting Evan Miller swap the lead several times throughout the 25-lap feature. As the laps wound down with the two still battling for the top spot, a late race caution set up a three-lap dash to the finish. The lead pack behind Nigh was scrambled, and Logan Veloz made a last-minute charge to finish right on the heels of Nigh. Nigh scored his first win of the season, while Miller held on for third ahead of Bryce Garnhart. By Ben Deatherage MINOT, N.D. (Aug. 3, 2025) — Jake Nelson of Williston outdueled a loaded field to win the inaugural Ole Olson Memorial at Nodak Speedway on Sunday night. The 40-lap feature for the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars headlined a program that drew 47 entries to the 3/8-mile at the North Dakota State Fairgrounds. It was also his first career win at the Playground of Power. Saskatchewan’s Gary Goudy Jr. set the pace early, running strong along the low groove until a lap five caution bunched the field. Three-time Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock track champion Brock Beeter reeled in the leader around lap 10 but was unable to make a move. That opened the door for two-time Tougher Than Dirt Tour champion and 2025 Iowa Spring Nationals winner Gabriel Deschamp to challenge Beeter for second. Hogge Gets Ocean Modified Win in Final Turn Thriller

By Steven Blakesley WATSONVILLE, Calif. (Aug. 2, 2025) — Bobby Hogge of Salinas extended his points lead in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds at Ocean Speedway, leading only the final corner for a thrilling victory in the 25-lap feature. Nevada’s Kaetlyn Robertson held off numerous challenges from Jacob Mallet Jr., withstanding the pressure to lead the first 13 laps of competition. Robert Marsh then drove past Mallet into second and took the lead from Robertson on lap 14. Hogge, who started seventh, followed Marsh through the field to take over the second spot. The duo ran nose to tail for the final 11 circuits. Marsh was slowed by lapped traffic coming into turn three on the final lap, allowing Hogge to dive underneath and steal the win out of turn four. The dramatic finish gave Hogge his sixth win of the year at the Watsonville ¼-mile and his ninth in the Shaw Race Cars Western Region in 2025. Mallet finished third.
