Clymens Captures Second Antioch SportMod Win of 2025

(June 14, 2025) — Trevor Clymens of Brentwood collected his second Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod win of the season at Antioch Speedway and fifth overall in 2025 on Saturday’s Fan Appreciation Night. Clymens took advantage of a late-race mechanical issue for then-leader Kenny Shrader with just two laps remaining in the 20-lap feature. Kelly Campanile led the early going, with Clymens moving into second ahead of Shrader following a lap two restart. The lead trio ran in tight formation until Shrader executed a big inside move in turn four on lap five to take the lead. A caution followed shortly after when Jason Ryan Jr., a top-five points contender, stalled in turn two. Shrader continued to lead on the restart, followed by Clymens and Fred Ryland. Wroten Masters Low Side for First Hobby Stock Win of 2025 at Independence

By Christine Rublack INDEPENDENCE, Iowa (Jun. 14, 2025) — At Independence Motor Speedway, Lady Eagle racer Leah Wroten powered to victory in the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks. Quinton Miller took the early command, followed closely by Carson James. Trenton Neuhaus moved into third while Joren Fisher rolled the low groove into second, with Bradley Graham charging the top side into third. Wroten worked her way into the top five just before a caution regrouped the field. On the restart, Wroten stuck to the low groove and worked past Graham for the lead. With the checkers waving, she crossed the line first for her first win of the 2025 season in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region. Graham settled for second, with Dalton Weepie rounding out the top three. Wroten started the feature in seventh. Hellman Hustles to Second Stock Car Victory at Mandan

By Becca Pelkey MANDAN, N.D. (Jun. 13, 2025) — Dylan Herner and Dustin Frank led the field to the green flag in the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature at Dacotah Speedway. While Herner and Frank battled side-by-side for the top spot, the action behind them intensified with four- and five-wide racing for third. Geoff Hellman, who started 10th, threaded his way through traffic and muscled into third before seizing the lead on lap six. The fight for second heated up between Scott Gartner and Travis Ulmer, but Ulmer’s charge ended abruptly when he slid off the top of turn four, falling back through the field. Gartner held on for second while points leader Brock Beeter fended off Matt Dosch for third. Richards Rockets to Sixth Straight in Hobby Stocks at Eagle

By Greg Soukup EAGLE, Neb. (Jun. 14, 2025) — Eagle Raceway saw another dominant performance by Dillon Richards in the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock main event at “America’s Home Track”. Richards, who started ninth, steadily worked through the field, grabbing the lead with seven laps remaining and never looking back. His win marked six in a row at Eagle, 27 overall for the season, and 19th in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region. Trenton Dowty led the early portion of the race before relinquishing the top spot to Brad Schreiner. Richards moved into second just past halfway and powered to the lead on lap 10. By Jerry Mackey MAQUOKETA, Iowa (Jun. 14, 2025) — The Sunoco IMCA Late Models saw veteran racer Steve Johnson score the win and collect the Sunoco Race Fuels Bonus Money on Saturday night at Maquoketa Speedway. Johnson, who recently celebrated his 68th birthday, has been a longtime presence in Eastern Iowa racing and a staple at area tracks. Johnson charged to the front from his third-row start and led early in the feature. Point leader Travis Denning eventually reeled him in and took over the lead, but his run ended early with a drivetrain failure. That opened the door for Johnson to retake command and race to his first victory of the 2025 campaign. Mitch Morris crossed the stripe in second while Carter Johnson delivered a strong run to finish third. Photo Finish Thriller Goes to West in IMCA Hobby Stocks at Marshalltown

Hemsley took the lead early and looked poised for victory. But in a near-repeat of last week, Sam West surged late and nipped Hemsley at the line by just 0.041 seconds for his second B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region win of 2025. Eric Knutson rounded out the top three. Avila’s Misstep Gives Olson IMCA SportMod Victory Josalyn Elmquist inherited the pole for the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods after scheduled starter Dayton Swatek did not make the call. Shryock Scores $2,000 Hobo Hustle Payday at Hancock County Speedway

By Chad Meyer BRITT, Iowa (Jun. 13, 2025) — In the $2,000-to-win Hobo Hustle Sunoco IMCA Stock Car Showdown at Hancock County Speedway, Kelly Shryock worked his way to the front and had to survive a couple late race cautions to earn the top prize. Dallon Murty started seventh and past the halfway mark mounted a serious charge to the front. It was Shryock’s eighth win of 2025 in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region. Murty ultimately settled for second ahead of Scott Olson. Jeremy Mills drew the front row start of the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified main and never looked back to post the win. Mills, who has already won this year at Boone and Kossuth County Speedways, earned his first win at Britt and seventh of the year in the Razor Chassis North Central Region. Jerry Flippo advanced from seventh to finish second, while last week’s winner Kelly Shryock climbed from eighth to third. Zimmer Scores First Career NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series Feature Win at The Hill

(Jun. 13, 2025) — The Close Racing Supply NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series presented by Insinger Performance finally kicked off its fifth season Friday night at The Hill Speedway. After the originally scheduled season opener at Clinton County was canceled in April, Friesen Performance IMCA Modified teams in the series had some extra time to prepare their equipment for the season. In the feature fans watched Earl Zimmer and Shawn Bruce battle each other for the opening two laps through a couple early caution flags. Once things settled down, the guys went to work. Bruce was overtaken by defending series champion Rodney Morgan, dropping him to third. Morgan battled hard trying to catch Zimmer. When the field hit five laps to go, there seemed to be hope for Morgan as Zimmer was working lap traffic. The rookie—yet seasoned—driver prevailed, earning his first career Modified win both with the series and in the DeVilbiss Racing Eastern Region. Second went to Morgan, followed by Logan Terry in third.

Winter Ends Long Drought at Kossuth County with SportMod Victory

By Greg Grabianowski ALGONA, Iowa (Jun. 12, 2025) — The Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods feature at Kossuth County Speedway saw a veteran driver make a long-awaited return to victory lane. Colby Fett led after the first lap, but Randy Winter took command on the third circuit. Once out front, Winter never looked back, picking up his first win at the Algona oval in over four years and came aboard a homebuilt chassis. The battle for second was a tight one among Fett, Matthew Looft, and Jake Simpson. Fett eventually claimed the runner-up spot with Simpson following in third. James Doubles Up in Speedweek With Coos Bay Modified Win

(June 15, 2025) — 2022 IMCA Wild West Speedweek champion and 2019 Shaw Race Cars Western Region titleholder Bricen James made it two-for-two in 2025 Speedweek competition with a dominant win in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds at Coos Bay Speedway. Piloting the Schram Motorsports no. 13, the Albany, Ore. native jumped to the lead at the drop of the green and never looked back. A pair of cautions on lap five were the only interruptions in the 35-lap feature. James was strong on the restart and began stretching his lead until reaching lapped traffic by lap 17. Despite the heavy traffic, James made all the right moves to keep his lead safe and sailed to victory.
