Ladner leads Arlington Sport Compacts

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 16) – Eric Ladner found victory lane for the first time this year in the Coors Light IMCA Sport Compact feature Saturday at Arlington Raceway.

Joe Regner was the first leader of the race until he and another car encountered troubles in turn four, causing Regner to go off the top of the track and retire to the pit area.

On the restart, Ladner took over the race and held off eventual runner-up Alan Lahr. Nate Coop­man was third.

Andy Timm got the lead following a restart and stayed in front to win the MN 93 IMCA Modified feature. Dan Mackenthun was the third and final leader in a near flawless Annihilator IMCA Stock Car feature.

The 95.7 IMCA Sprint Car feature saw a red flag on the start of the race in turn one as five cars tried to make the turn at the same time and there wasn’t enough room. Three cars were damaged and out of the race as a result of the mishap. Mike Stien went on to the victory.

The Unhinged Pizza IMCA Northern SportMod feature was slowed by several yellow flags. Matt Looft drove to the checkers after taking charge with four laps left.

Rod Manthey led the Eckblad Trucking IMCA Hobby Stock feature from start to finish.
